    GOTG crossing 300m DOM will be the story of the year, no doubt. I even havent seen the movie, will wait for the bluray. But the fact it's outgrossing the already very successful Winter Soldier by a wide margin is incredible.  August can carry blockbusters, 12 years after Signs. Good news for Hollywood, i guess.

     

    Actually the biggest august BO is for The Sixth Sense.  

     

    That movie had the leggiest legs...like x9 multiplier and reached $293M after a $26M opening weekend.

    The point was to say that they aren't nice people right? To understand that a company doesn't have the best people to rule but have good works is so hard? It will change something? No. It won't. 

     

    Disney is a multi billion dollars enterprise with thousands of employees worldwide.  

     

    So who are those people representing Disney who are not nice? What are their name and what specific quote or behabviour endorsed by the company have they done recurrently that falls into the not nice person character that you transfer to the whole company like it's the official company culture ? 

     

    Also, what makes Disney not nice compared to other companies of the same industry ?

     

    Finally, corporations by essence don't make business by being nice.  Those are  businesses not philanthropistic entities or social services.  People who run successful businesses are tough, even when they appear being nice in public.  That's part of the drive, of the ambition and of the agressivity you need to succeed in a business where they are numerous competitors and few places to win.

    BO Germany/Austria: Inside Out 2 #1 with best 2024 OW

    First trend for Germany's weekend:

    #1: GotG - 525k admissions (a bit better than expected, even if that's including previews)

    #2: Doktorspiele - 200k  (that's a real surprise here - the strong run of domestic comedies continues)

    #3: QecqoafaBD - 175k - the first serious drop, nearly 30%, so it seems 3mil total is impossible to reach

    #4: Lucy - 150k (-45%, ouch)

    #5: Ex3 - 100k (-60%, OUCH)

    #6: Begin Again - 95k (incl. previews) - very strong for the limited release!

     

    So, a very strong weekend for all openers, while everything else suffers a bit more than I hoped.

     

    How much dollars does 525 admissions represent ?

    Apes is one of the greatest movies this year.  

     

    But the tone, dramatic events and heavy athmosphere throughout the whole movie may be too frightening and unappealing to a young audience.   It is darker than the already dark first installment.

     

    It is definitely less family appealing than the likes of GOTG with its colorful, fun athmosphere, more prone to attract a bigger range (age wise) of people who just want to have a good time watching something the whole family can enjoy during the summer hollidays.
