  1. 8 of the 54 movies that opened between 35-40m did not make 100m They were AvP (RT 21%), Oblivion (personally my least favorite movie of the year RT 53%), Red Dragon (RT 69%), Freddy vs Jason (RT 41%), Scorpion King (RT 40%), 10000 BC (RT 8%), Battle: LA (RT 35%), The Ring 2 (20%) It is possible that the movie will not clear 100m with a 35m ow, but I think that with the reviews it has received Lone is pretty close to being a lock.
  2. Her seemed to get a good reaction from the theater that I was in. Though this is just an isolated theater, good WOM and oscar talk could give the movie decent legs. I wouldn't be surprised to see it move ahead of Osage and Hercules in the next week. Also, those Lone Survivor numbers are amazing!
  3. The reason that Han shot second on the DVD and BR versions was to keep the PG rating (at least according to TV TROPES:avoiding the dreaded go rating).I would like to apologize to all of you for the time that will now be lost on TV TROPES
  4. When I stream Netflix via Xbox 360 I didn't notice a difference in picture quality, but that might be because I am sometimes oblivious to changes in picture quality.
  5. How strong of a day is the day after New Years usually? Is an increase expected on Friday, or will films likely continue the tapering off I'll be it likely slower?
  6. I hope that with the playoffs a non SC pac-12 team, will bring some respect back to the west. I mean so what do you guys think will be the biggest sports movie of the year no off-topic here
  7. You bring up a good point. If other options are more appealing, such as bowling or red box as you stated people will do that. On the other hand there have been a number of times I saw a mediocre movie because nothing good was out. I think that the impact of competition is at times overstated, but there are times when people decide to go to the movies and go to whatever sounds best. I also know people who only go to a certain number of movies per month or year.
  8. If Frozen continues its current Tangled multiplier of 1.74 it should hit $349.88 million Happy New Year
