RESURRECTIONS clearly established that amount of die hard Matrix Fans out there is pretty small. There should be little concern towards upsetting them. Upside of reinventing something and broadening appeal is easy to see.

Why do you think Republicans aren't pushing a congressional hearing or investigation about 2020 election fraud?
Because they know it's total bull.
Democrats had an investigation because that's what you're supposed to do when you truly believe there was wrong doing.
90% of this eras republicans are pathetically weak. Raise your hand if you EVER thought you would become a fan and supporter of liz Cheney for anything. Me neither, but here we are.

For real.
some Dems 2017-2020: NOT MY PRESIDENT / RUSSIA RIGGED IT FOR DT

In all seriousness, my early 2000's self is thrilled to see Kirsten Dunst on the cover of a major mag.
For real. Tobey McGuire + Kirsten Dunst "Spider-man Returns" would be H.U.G.E.

This feels like it is going utterly barnstorm pop culture in September and October.

Nothing wrong of being a "both side" pleaser. In fact, people taking strong stance is the reason why our society has gotten so toxic nowadays. Everyone wants thing going their way, totally ignoring the fact the people are diverse in value.
A reasonable both sides take covers more people than either extreme, though, which is the broad point being made. Deep down, both sides know
SpoilerJan 6th is mostly DT's fault and was a complete embarrassment, the Biden economy is booming, Biden is old AF on paper only, etc

Still don’t see how a movie with one of the most famous fictional characters of all time and sequel to a $1b grossing movie is a harder sell than an introspective 3-hour long hard sci-fi like Dune…
Agreed x 1000000. JOKER also functioned as the quasi sequel we always
wantedneeded and never had to Ledger's iconic take.Joker 2 featuring Lady fucking Gaga as Harley is going to enormous.

Honest question, what does the casting of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn rank historically for comic book film casting? On paper, it such a slam dunk both commercially and critically, it is akin to Jack Nicholson as Joker back in 1989. JOKER 2 was always going to be big but Gaga as the iconic character just feels like a peak star power flex.

She's certainly a name, and she does add some legitimacy to this project, simply put.

Even more impressive is how The Dark Knight (a solo Batman movie) outsold No Way Home, with 3 different Spider-Men and ALL of the villains🤣
TDK = GOAT.
Simple, basic, entirely inarguable explanation.

Wish I was able to catch Spider-man 2002 during the release. Inject that early 2000s nostalgia straight into my veins! That was an unforgettable opening night and weekend for a movie buff.
Spoilernow just imagine if Hartnett hadn't been deemed "would be" too famous when they doing the casting of Peter!

As someone who has not idea what the original is about and never saw it, I thought this was good.

The plot sounds so B movie that I almost think it must be VERY good script, bc otherwise it isn't getting made

post 2019 WB trailers have never reached their past heights tbf
What? ELVIS had the best trailer of 2022, Barbie's entire campaign is iconic level, DUNE 2's final trailer was unreal, etc.
Re: Furiosa, yeah I have no idea how this will do but I think this doesn't have near the mass appeal that some will like claim it has.

Dune 3 is obviously happening. WB owns the post Covid correction franchise game for the net 3-4 years with sequels to Barbie, Beetle Juice, The Batman, Dune, Joker, Wonka, and Twisters.

This is definitely one of those "the trailer is more watchable than the film" instances

I found DUNE 2 to be an utter chore to sit through, but it is indeed pure CINEMA and the theater owners deserve every penny!

SKULL ISLAND was randomly pretty sweet and well done. But no doubt seeing this series becoming BAYFORMERS esque is a bit sad given how vividly I can recall PJ's epic prestige version of KONG in late 2005.

Killers was an obnoxiously self indulgent film. Not surprised in the slightest that it was an awards flop.
