WB has TC locked up tight.

I like the logo, but don't like the release date as it stands. Jurassic World is way too close and still a lot of the buzz, especially overseas.

Wonka 2 and barbie need release dates.

Refreshingly honest and blunt call w/ regard to the studio.

Similar to Oppenheimer, everyone expected this to be good, but reviews at that level will likely push some people that were on the fence.

This is going to have an epic trailer and I am suddenly fairly worried about Superman: Legacy.

God Nolan deserves all of this and more for
bringing Josh back into mainstream andmaking such an epic film. His next film should be another mega blockbuster. -

As long as the streamers don't start forcing contracts, I'm fine with any bundles they want to do. Whatever.
soon all streamer will merge into a concept known as cable tv

I doubt his audition sucked considering he got a call from Gunn an hour after he submitted it saying he loved it.
probably the Hollywood equivalent of "she said I was a real nice guy"
-
sorry but who the fuck cares ? the guy isn't in the movie, move on with life, he was beyond irresponsible for openly speculating it was political when he had zero indication of this. Maybe his audition sucked? The amount of well off middle aged "adults" in Hollywood who are mental midgets is pathetic.

That is the current location of the further reaches of both of americas largest political parties, so....

Solo Superman films are legit. cursed with poor release dates. Stiff competition absolutely overwhelmed Superman Returns and Man of Steel.

Twister is like ID4 and Armageddon. Absurd story but perfect cast and emotionally compelling storylines more than offset the absurdity of the premise. It is STILL awesome.

Powell's character absolutely seems to have to have the potential to annoy some people. 1980s Cruise would be seen as cringe in 2020s, and Affleck went for the same vibe during Affleck overload in the early 2000s which almost killed his career completely. It is a tight rope to walk.
-
So they made Powell's Top Gun character a tornado chaser in his spare time.

I think "ensemble casting" is becoming a bit of a draw in this age of few movie stars and yeah, they have hit home runs on every pick here. It is definitely adding the all-important internet goodwill to the project. That Corenswet looks like he was made in a lab to play Superman definitely helps.

Capitalism.
You mean a huge built in audience ready to spend their money on JURASSIC branded entertainment?

Reviews will play a big role here. Mid $60s seem like a solid floor but if it gets raves, it could get $90m+,

Moderation
I'm not sure why I have to explain this, but somebody posting something from Reddit does not break any rules nor is it a bannable offense. If anything, it's pretty darn rude to insult somebody for something so inoffensive. Like if you shared something you made on YouTube or Instagram and got mocked by other people, I don't think you would like that.
If you don't care for such content, you can either put the user who did that on your Ignore list or just scroll by the post. You're adults, so I think you are able to just scroll past stuff you don't like. Anybody who posts disrespectful attitudes like these will see warning points and/or threadbans.
If you wish to talk about this with me further, please talk with me privately.

Zelda Williams aka Robin's daughter? Hoping this is hugely successful.

It's a week-long gap and it's the summer. Both films will have a max opening of like $120 mil (and Im being very generous). It's not going to matter.
I would argue that both have potential above that number depending on a number of things, no way to slice it, it would be stupid to release them 7 days apart. Exact same audience in all corners of the globe.
Armageddon (1998) and Deep Impact (1998)
in Classic Box Office Runs

I rewatched DEEP IMPACT a few months ago and actually have a newfound appreciation for what it tries to do. Some of the scenes, ala the evacuation of DC, are pretty strong. Though was someone else noted, it's equally absurd to see people reading the newspaper and grocery shopping when the wave they all know is coming hits NYC 🤣. What ARMAGEDDON understood, unlike DI, was it needed action scenes throughout the film. ARMAGEDDON largely handles this by having an entire asteroid field headed towards Earth, not just 2 ala DI, so ARMAGEDDON can flip to NYC, Hong Kong, and Paris getting destroyed right when the film feels slow. The absurd space station explosion scene in ARMAGEDDON is hilarious stupid, though.
I actually read the first draft of DEEP IMPACT aa few years back somewhere online and liked it more than the film. It was mostly similar but draft 1 was a but more morose, i.e. when they know the wave is coming, entire crowds flocked to the beach spend their final moments in their favorite place, vs. the film is just Tea Leoni and her dad, etc....1 more script tweak with DI, which expedited the evacuation stuff and had a few smaller comets hit Earth sooner to give some more action, would have made a big difference.
ARMAGEDDON is an all-time epic crowd pleaser, though. Michael Bay does a shockingly great job with the emotional story beats that completely offset the absurdity of the story. The aforementioned PEARL HARBOR could have been a much better film with a few basic script tweaks.
