  1. Is St Vincent really that good that it keeps holding on and holding on? I had heard that all the characters and their arcs were super predictable.
  2. Saw Nightcrawler this afternoon with very few people in attendance. Birdman also not doing well. Really enjoyed Nightcrawler, but not sure how it will play with the masses.
  3. Anyone seen Ouija yet? Is it the least bit spooky/scary?
  4. Have no interest in seeing The Judge and watching Robert Duvall poop in his pants, but I have to give RDJ credit for going on every talk show to try and promote it and doing non-stop social media work on Twitter to help it's prospects. It's obviously a project that he wanted to make and it just happened to not end up being very good.
  5. What exactly is The Good Lie? That isn't the movie with Witherspoon hiking in the wild, is it?
  6. Maybe Cameron Diaz is starting to have the Nicole Kidman effect, where people actively avoid her movies. Don't think people care about Jason Segal one way or the other.
  7. I don't get it, either. Tammy was the worst film I've seen this year by a pretty wide margin. Not only was it 100% unfunny, but it was cheap looking and poorly shot, as well. I thought the WOM would have been toxic and I was wrong.
  8. That is PC awards bait if I ever saw it. I can't imagine many critics would give this a bad review even if the film stunk. Does any film or tv show with homosexual themes ever get panned?
  9. I thought the same thing. Walked into it after Deliver Us From Evil, and it's one of those movies that's so bad, it's almost uncomfortable to watch. When watching a train wreck like this, I always wonder if they know it is a dud while filming. Melissa McCarthy isn't my favorite, though, so maybe that clouded my opinion. Liked her in Bridesmaids, but a little of her goes a long way, imo.
  10. I'd give Apes the nod over either Hunger Games film due to the fact that I was really surprised how good it was, and it's always nice to have a film be better than you expected going in. HG was just fair, imo, and CF was pretty good, but I had huge expectations for it. And Apes doesn't have the dorkiest actor working today in Josh Hutcherson ruining whatever scene he's in.
  11. You could have a movie that was incredibly devout and still not be a good film. The Passion certainly came across as one of the most devout films ever made. Was it a good film? That's up for debate.
