  1. This is destined to bomb, but I love that Bong used that Parasite blank check to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a weirdo sci-fi comedy that will play to niche audiences. That's what these auteurs need to do instead of being stuck in the nostalgic toy commercial industrial complex for all eternity.
  2. Moderation I am seeing homophobic remarks about how LGBT erasure, especially in kids movies, is good because “politics” and “only business sense”. This is only excusing homophobic and bigoted behavior and is beyond disrespectful. Please do not post such rhetoric or else you will see a thread ban. If you have an issue or want to argue over me on this, feel free to talk with me privately.

  4. Well golly gee whiz, maybe you could take note of the tweets and articles being shared over these last couple pages, maybe then you would figure it out.
  5. Not to be mean, but I think the working conditions under Pixar impacting this dumb kids movie’s awards campaign is by far the least of our concerns.
  6. I said nearly 20 years. Doug started Nostalgia Critic back in 2007. We're a lot closer to 2027 than you might think. And that is terrifying.
  7. Speaking of YouTube movie reviewers past their prime, did y'all know the Nostalgia Critic is still making videos? I learned that a few weeks ago, and it's wild to see how gray this man's beard has gotten after nearly 20 years of ranting about Batman movies.
  8. I mean if he wanted to be a Quartering-style dude, he would have been one by now? From what I've seen, albeit as somebody who hasn't watched a video of his in ages (didn't even know he was still making reviews tbh), he just quietly does his own thing reviewing whatever new geek movie is out. Closest thing to the usual right wing schtick these YouTubers do is saying the new Star Wars shows suck, but that's not really anything all too damning lol
  9. Life of Chuck? More like Life of SUCK amirite guys
  10. Well she knows it has a body horror thing going on, so she's not totally blind. And she does like "weird movies", especially if they won awards and have a good, feminist message she likes (Shape of Water, Poor Things). So hey! She'll probably like this, even when it gets to weirdo territory...I hope.
  11. lol my mom told me she wanted to see this with me because she's a big Demi Moore fan. Which like...valid, but um...I hope she's okay with the supposed insanity that unfolds.
  12. Even accounting for Friday the 13th, this is disgustingly front loaded.
  13. Shockingly nothing. In fact, the next animated movie after Smurfs is Elio in June. There's still stuff like Snow White and Minecraft in the spring, so it's not as dire for PG kids stuff as it was last spring, but it is still very weird how kids movies either get all crammed together one moment, then there's a massive dry spell right after. What's going on over there?
  14. Moderation @justnumbers this strawmanning and antagonizing of other users is very disrespectful and very unnecessary. If you continue this mean behavior, you will leave me with no other choice but to give you a threadban.
  15. This blurb is making my head hurt. Like…what?
