  1. Enjoy some of the gems I found while scrolling through his history.
  2. Pocahontas probably has my favorite Disney soundtrack. Arguably not a single dull or annoying Menken composition. Shame that the actual movie is trash af.
  3. Update before RPO Previews: Ready Player One (3-Day) 216 2394 7.85% Ready Player One (4-Day) 417 3248 10.90% Acrimony 474 1148 41.29% I don't have the time to do comps, because I have a meeting in a half hour, RPO's Thursday premiere complicates a lot of things and I had a long, busy, stressful day, so I don't really have the energy. But, I can still give some quick notes: -RPO is super frontloaded (Wed 110 tickets, Thurs 91, Fri 117, Sat 66, Sun 33). -Someone mentioned that because it was premiering on Thursday, many people might not be aware that it comes out that day. Well judging by the distribution, that doesn't seem to be the case. Of course, this could just be due to fanboys, and maybe walkups will happen for those unaware of the Thursday date? Maybe...yeah, probably not. -Before y'all go "ZOMG ACRIMONY GON BREAKOUT", black-led films at this theater severely overperform. If the box office followed my theater, Proud Mary would have been #1, and Wrinkle in Time would have made around $10-20M more than it actually did. Although with RPO being in the bigger theaters and having double the showtimes...yeah, it's a tad concerning that Tyler Perry has sold more than Steven Spielberg. -Acrimony's sold about 70 more tickets than Proud Mary, so at the very least, somewhere in the teens should happen for that film.
  4. Our local Cameron crazies are very pleased by this reaction.
  5. The "Producers of Arrival" thing really confuses me. I understand the Stranger Things plug, as they're both teen-targeted media with genre bents to them, so there's potential crossover audience...but why Arrival?
  6. How come this high school has Jetsons-esque technology? Is this another Hanna-Barbera crossover?
  7. There's a few Landmark theaters in Philly, so now I guess I have an excuse to use them.
  8. If anything from the Christmas lineup moves to the Nutcracker weekend, I feel it would be Aquaman. It's worked wonders for other SH flicks, and it'll get much larger auditoriums and more screens than it probably would in the Christmas date to help deliver a stronger OW, along with Thanksgiving legs. It also has way more appeal with audiences than something like Engines or Alita (To all of the Jackson and Cameron fanboys who are planning to launch into a 20-paragraph rant against me...bite me)
  9. Guys, Disney's new streaming service is explicitly for family-friendly movies, and no R or hard PG-13 content. Why would this hard PG-13, possibly R horror film be placed next to Winnie the Pooh and Lady and the Tramp?

  11. Actually @grim22 @CJohn Could you merge these two threads together?
