  1. Oh, I thought you were talking about the Variety article. My apologies. Yes, that stuff about Black Panther 2 should not have been there. When that happens, please report those posts. I was asleep when that conversation started. And while other staff members are around, we can't be here at a moment's notice. Reporting makes it a lot easier to fix a situation.
  2. That's why we have the Disney thread. So far, everything being talked about is in context with The Marvels, so we're fine.
  3. Time has passed, so now the thread is open. Now as a reminder to everybody, this is just a silly kids movie. It bombing or succeeding won't change your life in any way, you're not seeing any of that money anyways, and if you don't like a conversation, just ignore it and move on. You aren't being forced against your will to respond in this thread, so why do it if you don't like how things are going?
  4. Things will be locked for a while, as it’s clear there are tensions that are beyond the movie and MCU. I will unlock this thread in a few hours. I also wanted to say things to certain members. @CoolioD1 we don’t need this trolling and baiting towards Marvel fans. Posts like these are uncalled for and only instigate fanboy war nonsense. Do this again and a threadban will come your way. @Arlborn please note that posters who are problematic for whatever reason are getting treatments and are getting punished, including that boxoff53 fellow, who was given warning points for their behavior. The staff are trying their absolute best to make sure such posters are taken care of swiftly and properly punished. We are not perfect at this, and we are not going to censor everything that some posters may not like, but we are trying to take care of it. Reporting such posters is also very beneficial and helpful for us. @ZattMurdock let me be here to say the staff is sorry that we have made this place hostile towards MCU fans. We do not intend for that, especially since a majority of the staff are huge MCU fans in the first place. Intentions however don’t equal actions, and we can and should do better. So thank you for bringing this to our attention. However, that doesn’t absolve everything you have done, nor mean we will not hold you accountable for your actions. I understand you are frustrated with people’s dismissiveness of the MCU and the Marvels. It sucks to see something you love get dunked on, no matter how popular and loved it is. But people are allowed to be critical and negative and have a right to do so. And attacking other users, derailing threads, and starting flame wars is not something we need. This isn’t just something you are doing of course. And we have and are willing to stand up and defend you and other MCU fans here if we believe you are getting mistreated and attacked. We have even been called Disney shills in the past. And I know you have good intentions. But intentions do not equal actions, like I said. And as a message to everybody, if you feel you or others are being mistreated or abused in some way, please report the offending posts. The staff can’t be here at all times, and reports guarantee that somebody on the staff will at least look at it. It’s better than criticizing people who are only doing this as volunteer work. If anybody wants to discuss things I said here with me privately, please PM me. And to @ZattMurdock, because I know you have had problems before, you have to delete messages in your inbox, and then you will be able to PM me. Your inbox is full.
  5. lmao if even the Zas doesn't want this in theaters, you know it's bad.

  8. Okay, because this has happened way too many times, a quick note of clarification: 2023 movies are excluded from this countdown. It's too recent in my books to include something a couple months old in an all-time greatest movies list. So Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Elemental, Little Mermaid '23, etc. can't be included on your list at all. I get you really, really, really like this movie or that movie, but it's just how I laid out these rules. There's thousands of other movies to choose that Disney has made, so there's bound to be one or two more movies that you like that you can include on your list. Thank you. I thought I was clear in my opening post, but I guess not. So again, no 2023 movies.
  9. Moderation Not the Thunderbolts/Blade thread. Don't even think we need to bring up EC's hateful ass in this forum in the first place.
  10. Being popular and well-liked doesn't mean we should congratulate and applaud and be nice to a movie franchise that will make more money than we will ever make in our lifetimes. Especially when it's not like even their current direction is something the fans are happy about. Plus the whole "it supports theaters" thing doesn't hold water because we have tons of other movies right now picking up the slack. Trust me when I say being mean towards something that has made $29.6 billion isn't that big a deal.
  11. Oh I did. I was warning folks about this for years. And honestly, I think most were on my side by the time Black Widow dropped outside of the big Marvel diehards.

  13. I knew somebody would bring this up lol The second trailer for Wonka was honestly a total whiff in quality. Which says a lot coming from me. It’s also a movie that needs the cast promoting it. You need Hugh Grant on Stephen Colbert, you need Timothee on Hot Ones, you need the cast on the Buzzfeed YouTube channel and doing WIRED’s Google Search videos. And while the SAG strikes are apparently progressing well, it could fall apart just like that. The only thing they could really do apart from cast promos is try to hype up the music and see if one of the songs stick, like Wish is doing quite well with right now, but they’re weirdly being coy and haven’t given us any of the songs, which is odd to me. There's also the hurdle of being a musical. Musicals that aren’t Disney animations/Disney remakes have a pretty hard ceiling. I think Grease is still the biggest domestically of that group at around 180M, even after all these years. I love musicals, but I think there's sadly going to be a ceiling and limit in their appeal unless you're a Disney cartoon or based on a Disney cartoon.
