  4. I know this is unfair since I haven't seen it since I was a wee lad, but I don't remember that cartoon being that good? I remember feeling like it was just filler while waiting for other Disney Channel shows to come on.
  5. Man, these Marvel movies make more money than I will ever make in my lifetime. Does it matter if they don't make a billion anymore? (please don't answer that)

  9. Honestly the second Elvis trailer was what got me interested in the movie, and I kind of hoped it would have the same energy and spontaneity of that trailer (still liked it fine enough btw)
  10. As it turns out, she really liked the movie and actually likes Baz okay. And honestly, I kinda wished it was crazier and flashier and more on the levels of Moulin Rouge, because this was just Rocketman with quicker edits tbh
  11. Moderation Look, this "Is Dominion having good WOM" arguments have to go. You lot are talking in circles, it's more than obvious you guys will not agree with each other...I think it's time to let these arguments go, at least publicly on the board.
  12. I don't know if my mom likes or has ever seen Moulin Rouge or Great Gatsby, but I'm scared she's gonna hate the movie and think it's too flashy or weird. The only movies she likes are middling Oscar bait, so maybe this will be too much for her.
  13. Rewatched it for the first time in like...fifteen years, since I'm seeing Elvis in about an hour. It's one of those rare kids movies where it's even better than I remembered when I was younger. Hope I can find a way to use "Oh good! My dog found the chainsaw!" in regular conversation someday.

  15. Can we not with this garbage? THR showed that the movie just underperformed everywhere and actually did on par with Sonic 2, which didn't have any baggage behind it. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/lightyear-box-office-family-problem-1235169002/ Plus 71% of people in the US support same-sex marriage. Those people offended and think it's corrupting kids are the literal minority, and it makes zero sense to capitulate to them from a business perspective. Please stop with this. https://news.gallup.com/poll/393197/same-sex-marriage-support-inches-new-high.aspx
  16. Guy who directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the Neighbors movies and the upcoming Bros with Billy Eichner. Obviously he's no Greta, and he's done stuff like The Muppets and Storks, but I still took a mild double take when I saw his name attached.
  17. I dunno, this whole project still reminds me of the Dora movie. They're taking a property that has almost exclusively appealed to 5-year-old girls since Day 1, got some major creative talents behind it that make film nerds go "whaaaa" (yes I know Greta's bigger/more talented than Nicholas Stoller), and is trying to aim itself towards a broader, older audience, with nobody showing up at the end. 20/30somethings wouldn't be caught dead watching a movie with "Barbie" in the title, parents of little little kids would think it's "too mature" compared to the Barbie animated movies, grade school kids have other options (and for boys, they'll get picked on to death for liking it). It's a movie for people on Twitter to gawk at, but nobody will actually bother seeing it in theaters. Should still do better than Dora of course, but this is destined to be a movie that will only gross like 75M, and we all scratch our heads wondering "wha happun?"
