In all seriousness though, I learned earlier today that Lilo & Stitch is officially 20 years old and that was a real "man I feel old" for me (FTR I'm 24, and I know I sound like a dweeb when I say that). I'm now at the point where things are turning 20 and I can vividly remember watching the commercials and trailers for these movies when they were coming out. It's legitimately insane.

I misread this as "Before 2000: TPM, Tragic". And like...not entirely wrong lmao That's...not true with E.T. at all. It was the biggest movie of all time right out of the gate. Its $359 million is an incredible achievement for a movie even today. Obviously it had help from re-releases, but it didn't need to climb anything.

I never watched One Piece, so I have no idea who this is. All I know about it is that incredible theme song.

It's insecurity. People just think everything has to be BIG and EPIC to justify seeing a movie and think they are "getting their money's worth" and apparently being 2.5 hours+ is the only way to do it.
