  1. @Madhuvan Everybody's already talking about how it's just 25 screenings, and how last-minute it is that it will be tricky for people to drop everything and watch the film, but in regards to "oh noes spoilers", I think you're overreacting. The people who are looking for spoilers and leaks...will see Shang-Chi no matter what. Multiple times probably. The GA don't look for leaks. A majority of fans won't look at leaks. And even those who accidentally stumble upon it, I sincerely doubt a lot of people will say to themselves "Golly gee whiz, I was all hyped and ready to go for this new Marvel movie I was excited to watch, but UH OH I saw that Shang-Chi killed Dumbledore. I guess now I can't see this movie anymore!" Hell, spoilers before release were a constant because Marvel movies used to open a couple weeks before they launched in America all the time. And funny enough, these movies still have big openings in the US. Almost as if you're making a mountain out of a molehill or somehting. And speaking of, I'm also gonna say this upfront: your emotional breakdowns over Shang-Chi and any other time a movie might (key word there btw) underperform even slightly is beyond tiring and obnoxious. It's not productive, it's largely unfounded (if you think Marvel or Disney or whoever is trying to sabotage this movie, you need a reality check. Full stop!) and offers nothing of value to the conversation. You're an adult, so please take a deep breath before you post and act like an adult.
  2. You can't track. This is a free event. Gofobo is a site all about free advance screenings, and note the "first come first serve" disclaimer. I actually did one of these a few years ago for The Edge of Seventeen.
  3. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-17 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 53 510 10790 4.73% Comp 0.812x of F9 T-17 (5.77M) 0.626x of Black Widow's 1st Day of Presales (8.26M) 0.313x of Black Widow T-17 (4.13M) 2.297x of The Suicide Squad T-17 (9.42M) So yeah, this is in line with what everybody else sees. Nothing earth-shattering, but still a very good first day that will ensure the doom and gloom predictions that people wanted to see happen were concerned could happen for this movie is nipped in the bud
  4. Reminiscence Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-4 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 41 20 6030 0.33% Comp 0.909x of Voyagers Monday Before Release (471K) For the record, I can't use Those Who Wish Me Dead as a comp because they never revealed that movie's Friday number. However, Reminiscence is about 70% of Wish Me Dead at the same point in time, which is...yeesh material.

  8. Dwayne mentioned he was having talks with Disney and his production company for a sequel a couple weeks back, though obviously this stuff is super early. The only real hurdles here are that reception generally seems to be "it's fine I guess", which is never a good sign for a startup franchise, and also that Dwayne keeps attaching himself to project after project after project that it could get pushed to the backburner. Dude is a Lin-Manuel Miranda/Greg Berlanti level of a workaholic and it's genuinely insane how he never stops.
  9. Dude the video's like 3 minutes long. The CGI rock monster just sits around doing nothing for a whole minute. I sincerely doubt it was this ultra expensive promo you're making it out to be.
  10. I don't know how popular it is in India, but here in America, PAW Patrol is everything. I worked in retail the past four years, and it was absurd how much space PAW Patrol merch took up wherever I worked. Was pretty easily the biggest non-Disney franchise. My sister used to work at a daycare, and she told me PAW Patrol was far and away the biggest deal for her kids. When it was playtime, the fights from kids over who got to play with which PAW Patrol toy damn near turned into The Hunger Games. Although it did give my sister the opportunity to teach her kids the importance of sharing. Always a silver lining. What I'm basically saying is that PAW Patrol: The Movie is basically the Endgame for 3 year olds.
  11. Judging by the theaters around me, PAW Patrol's selling pretty well on Friday across most showtimes. Don't want to say anything super definitive until Monday, but I think sales so far do indicate it could possibly reach #1. At the very least, double digits should happen. Only real obstacle is that the film is just...not playing at Regal? At all? Even if you go on Regal's website, the film is not in their database. I dunno if it's a Paramount+ issue, since Cinemark made a huge stink over Raya back in March yet they are playing PAW Patrol, but it is very, very weird. Everything else though is dire, but stereotypical of late August doldrums.
