His favorite's XLR8, right? He was easily my favorite alien in the old show (Cannonbolt came close)

btw once Disney+ has some Disney Afternoon shows, I'm buying that service in a heartbeat.

Iger mentioned in a conference call that he plans to do away with the Vault program once Disney+ comes out. https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/7/18254942/disney-vault-streaming-service-plus-animated-live-action

Disney announcing they'll have their whole back catalog of movies on Disney+ eventually (keyword being "eventually") is a selling point all to itself. Just telling people that they'll be able to stream all the Pixar movies, all the Marvel movies, and all the Disney Channel movies is going to make people lose their shit.

Movie/Date Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Dumbo 577 654 770 564 463 443 1,345 11 days 10 days 9 days 8 days 7 days 6 days 5 days Shazam! 362 285 290 226 176 198 498 18 days 17 days 16 days 15 days 14 days 13 days 12 days Dumbo Past 7 Days 108% of Lego 2 (37M) 76% of Dragon 3 (41.8M) Day 18-Day 5 124% of Lego 2 (42.5M) 85% of Dragon 3 (46.7M) Shazam Past 7 Days 108% of Lego 2 (37M) 70% of Dragon 3 (38.3M) Day 23-Day 12 220% of Lego 2 (75M) 98% of Dragon 3 (53.8M) -Dumbo started out relatively strong at first, but it hasn't really been as strong nor as held as well as Lego and Dragon had recently, which is kinda reflected with these numbers. I guess Lego and Dragon being sequels inflate their presales, but Dumbo is still an established property, so...maybe I'll just wait for Monday's #s, so I can get more material to work off of. -Shazam's sales have been pretty mediocre, but it's arguably excused by the fact by the Fandango showings being of greater priority. So hey, with those out of the way, maybe Shazam will crawl its way back up to bigger numbers? -

Here's a funny little observation. At Marcus Theaters, Hellboy, of all movies, has "supertickets" on sale. For $20, you get to see a Thursday night screening of the movie, as well as a Funko Pop and a poster. And for whatever reason, two people already bought tickets for it. -

Even as somebody who loved Us, Baumer does have some points here. People have their own biases going into movies. We all have directors, actors, or even franchises or studios that we like more than others. And while that may not necessarily mean you will automatically like or dislike something, nor does that make your enjoyment disingenuous or a denial, you can be prone to hyperbole or excusing minor flaws or issues. I'm the resident Chalamet fanboy here, and while I was able to find things to like and enjoy in Call Me By Your Name and even Beautiful Boy, and can commend a lot of quality elements about it, I can't deny that if I wasn't as obsessed with Chalamet as I am, I probably wouldn't have gotten as much out of it as I did.

We have the free trial period too, but I don't know if that means you would've been allowed to the Aquaman show. Could be wrong though -

That I did not know. Guess that does put things into perspective more. -

It's kinda hard to compare those other movies, as Shazam had 2/3 preview screenings, while the rest of those movies had only one IIRC. But I guess it's fine? Maybe it should've done a bit better considering the extra showtimes? -
I genuinely loved how little was shown in the actual trailers. Almost the entirety of the second half was completely absent from marketing. The Shazam family bit was such a surprise that it actually got a big ol' smile on my face. It also made me laugh at how hard they tried to hide the fact Henry Cavill was not in that Superman costume. Wasn't really into Mark Strong though, but these Marvel and DC villains are typically boring, so imma let it slide Also, lol at the caterpillar dude. Have no idea who that guy is supposed to be, but I got a laugh out of it.
