  1. Back from the dentist. Now let's look at the other stuff. Movie/Date Monday Tuesday Wednesday Us 1,070 1,063 1,438 11 days 10 days 9 days Shazam Early 0 0 12,509 10 days Dumbo 777 685 442 18 days 17 days 16 days Shazam! 0 0 918 23 days Us Days 14-9 136% of Glass (54.7M using the 3-Day, 63.1M using the 4-Day) Dumbo Days 18-16 144% of Dragon 3 (79.3M) Cumulative 48% of Dragon 3 (26.3M) (Note Dragon 3 had 17 days more presales) Shazam Day 23 59% of Captain Marvel (90.9M) First Day of Presales 15% of Captain Marvel (23.5M) So yeah, there's a lot to unpack here. -Us is continuing to kill it here, gaining on Glass by significant margins. Considering Glass is a more fan-driven movie (although Get Out/Peele fans might hurt my argument here), this is doing excellently. -Dumbo's coming back down to earth more as presales slow down a touch, but still going strong. -Shazam is way too early to call, with two extremes depending on where you're going. But getting close to 1,000 is a great start either way. I wish I could use the Dragon 3 Fandango show to compare with the Shazam Fandango show, but the problem comes with showtimes. Shazam has two, while Dragon had 1. That makes comparing the two exceedingly difficult. Ah well.

But I guess maybe around 9-12M? Wonder Park comps: 26% of Hotel Transylvania 3 (11.7M) 82% of Teen Titans Go! (8.6M) 33% of Christopher Robin (8M) 48% of House w/ Clock (12.9M) 71% of Smallfoot (16.5M) 17% of The Grinch (11.7M) 115% of A Dog's Way Home (13M) 20% of Lego Movie 2 (6.9M) 13% of Dragon 3 (7.4M) So yeah, low teens seems like the ballpark here. For the record, I'll get to the upcoming movies in a bit. I've got a dentist appointment in 20 minutes
  3. I knew @WrathOfHan's "I'm in college" excuse was a lie
  4. akvalley still has access to it somehow, so we just use his thing. http://akvalley.pythonanywhere.com/static/MT_track.txt
  5. Hitchcock kinda comes close w/ Vertigo, North by Northwest and Psycho, but then The Birds kinda ruins things. Never seen either of his '56 movies, but I'm just gonna assume those are really good too and complete the "good 5-movie run"
  6. Only thing I remember about it was that dumbass ending with the car batteries.
  7. I think he had a miserable experience with Planet of the Apes due to deadlines and him being forced to rush everything, and he admitted he never wanted to do a sequel. I think he's cool with Alice, but I've always felt like he only signed up to do that movie so Disney could greenlight his stop-motion Frankenweenie movie. Kinda like how Musker and Clements only made Hercules so Treasure Planet could get made.
  8. https://deadline.com/2019/03/emma-roberts-justin-hartley-glenn-howerton-damon-lindelof-the-hunt-universal-blumhouse-1202573567/ Guess we know what that untitled Blumhouse movie is now. Also hype to see Justin Hartley's beautiful face in the cinema
  9. Think boxofficerules isn't trying to paint these as flops, but movies that arguably disappointed or underperformed relative to expectations, both here on BOT and in the industry. Obviously Glass and HDD2U are both financially successful, but considering expectations, buzz, and tracking, it's arguable they should have made more.
  10. The big issue when it comes to Best Picture is how stacked Universal is in terms of contenders. 1917, Cats, Queen & Slim. Even Yesterday's got a shot in the Golden Globes. Even if one or two of them disappoint, I don't really see Universal giving Us that much of a push in BP, especially since, as an example, Chazelle and Jenkins' follow-ups to their award-winning hits didn't get Best Picture noms (Talking about First Man, not La La Land. Don't bother me). Lupita might get a Best Actress nom though

  13. Only one out of the four has a baby elephant. Can you guess which one?
  14. My favorite Twitter account at the moment. Their Norbit one still gets to me. Even he knows this is going to destroy his career forever

  17. If that 15M sticks, CM's first Monday drop and first Tuesday jump are both better than Beauty and the Beast's. BATB: -72%, +32.1% CM: -71.5%, +36.5% Of course BATB is a more family-driven movie, and I'm not expecting this to drop sub-50%, but this bodes well for a strong hold in weekend 2, especially since this weekend's releases combined are likely to make less than what Power Rangers opened to
  18. Just got a like from our god @Rthmar-vell Think that means 15M is the legit number he has
  19. Wish I could remember where I found it, but I believe Peele's talked about how he's much more invested in creating original concepts and worlds than he is working on established IPs, which I feel is far better for him. Feels like every up-and-coming filmmaker gets forced to make corporate IP at some point, so it's nice to see at least one new filmmaker is allowed to do his own thing
  20. Finally. Now I can pitch to Disneyland the Freddy Got Fingered ride I've been developing for years.
