This is already feeling like such a tired conversation. Like does it matter which movie is the bigger bomb?

Ehh, not convinced at Threads being much better. It's owned by Meta. Is moving from one service run by a Bond villain to another service run by another Bond villian all that much better? Jack Dorsey sucks too, but I'm more prone to the idea of moving to Bluesky when that goes public.

The Disney Thread | Happy 90th to Donald Duck!
Eric the Clown replied to A Marvel Fanboy's topic in Box Office Discussion
Moderation @Valonqar there is no need to make fun of other BOT posters with baiting like “muh legs” and name calling like “copers”. People are in fact allowed to have their own opinions and viewpoints on box office and making fun of others like this is uncalled for. Please treat others here with respect or you will see a threadban. -
I didn't want to have to do this, but @Poseidon @baumer and @rebelscum86 have all been threadbanned for disregarding my previous warning and continuing to argue about whether Sound of Freedom is propaganda or conspiratorial or whatnot. Next time, to everybody, please take note of a moderator's warnings.

Well, it's now July 5th and I've gotten more than enough submissions for an incredible WB countdown for the ages. Thank you to everybody who submitted something to me. Without your amazing contributions, none of this would have happened. However, I will accept late submissions up until I actually start the countdown proper. With so many movies to look over and so many lists to analyze, as well as tons of things to make write-ups for, this will take me a few days to set up. So if you missed out or just needed to see one more movie, you can still PM me your list. However, like I said, this is only going to take a few days. My hope is to get things started by the end of the weekend, but I can't make any big promises. It could be longer, could be shorter. But you don't have that much time. Either way, if you missed out, you still have a chance. And yeah. It's crazy to think the submission period is finally over and I get to finally talk about one of the greatest movie studios of all time. Hope you guys are excited as I am. There's going to be some great stuff in your future.

I mean the Toy Story films are all "we have to go back home before X happens" and all still feel different enough in terms of tone and execution. And even then, some people criticized Toy Story 3 for just being the exact same plot as Toy Story 2. I'm not all that enthused by the creative decisions and team so far (though I get why Docter isn't directing), but I don't really think being "the same movie" is that big a deal.

Is it? That feels like one of the few recent Pixar movies that has incredible sequel potential. You can show Riley grow up as a teenager, grow up as an adult, show the emotions handle all these changes, how they grow, how new emotions come into the picture, etc. It's the perfect template to do what the Toy Story movies did with Andy and I think people would be interested in seeing the creative avenues these kinds of stories would take.

Yeah, that new Lion King is destined for bomb city. The big problem these remakes have, even the better of them, is their only hook is the novelty of seeing the songs and sequences and aesthetics from the animated movie "come to life". This obviously works, and even from different movie to different movie, but that doesn't really get people excited to see a follow-up. Alice 2 and Maleficent 2 learned this, even if the latter still did fine enough. Even if the Will Smith slap didn't happen and Aladdin 2 was fast-tracked, it would have done like half of the last movie. People want to see the stuff they want to see they remembered when they were kids and nothing else. The only way to really continue these live-action remake universes if you want franchise extensions is to just make a Disney+ series. Something you see while scrolling on Disney+ and say, "yeah, why not?"
