  1. Kind of funny how between every other movie having mediocre openings and poor drops, this is quietly doing its thing and will likely get to about 4 times its opening despite middling reception almost across the board. Granted there’s no other horror movies on the market, but still a little interesting this is legging out of all things.
  2. I will say however that Asteroid City's opening is legit strong for a director that, while known and popular, has a very niche fanbase that isn't many's (most?) cup of tea. A nice, small victory.
  3. People always go off on us and CJohn when we "doompost", but we're almost always right. A burden we must live with indeed.
  4. Just as a reminder before we go knee-deep into this weekend's numbers that the top 100 Warner Bros. countdown is still happening and you have until July 4 to submit a list. That's less than two weeks, so submit your list through PM sooner rather than later.
  5. Had some of those reservations too and they are kind of still there (still, being experimental and not totally working is better than just being generic), but there's some legitimately insane bits of creative lighting and the way they use transluscence on some of the water characters is incredible. There's also some moments that are legit trippy and surreal, which you just don't see much in mainstream animation.
  6. Can't wait to be the awkward adult in the back surrounded by screaming children every other week
  7. Having got back from Elemental...there's some clunky stuff in there, but that is not the case animation-wise. So many beautiful details and legit trippy sequences that are jaw-dropping to look at. Every dollar is on that screen and it goes a long way to give it charm and help ignore some of its shortcomings. Doesn't help granted I got the Ruby Gillman trailer before this, which honestly looks only a level above a Netflix preschool show.
  8. What's even more frustrating is that Star Trek Prodigy already got renewed for a second season. It was being worked on up until right now and was all set to go later this year. But they just had to pull it all away and delete the whole thing without second thought. That is especially ghoulish.
  9. So did your parents just not like Sesame Street in the house? What was going on in the Clay household?
  10. NHF 2.15 Asteroid City 1.1 That actually seems really good for Feelings? Like high teens are a certainty, though it would be cool if it could get to 20M in the end.
  11. Honey, I don't think this is what you should be focusing on regarding this story.

  13. Capitalists don't care. They love to abuse their employees time and time again just for kicks. It doesn't matter if this is Citizen Kane. Worker abuse should be reported regardless of the movie.
  14. If you don't like people saying mean things about a capitalist CEO who will make more money than you will ever make in your lifetime, you can just put some of these users on your Ignore list. Because while you may not like these posts, constantly complaining about it the way you are isn't any better. Just throwing that nugget of information out there.
