I think the one benefit to Bohemian Rhapsody's Globe win has been zero thinkpieces toward A Star is Born. While the "La La Land is racist" articles didn't start after the movie's Globe sweep, it definitely was the impetus that pushed these thinkpieces into becoming more rapid, and more popular amongst the mainstream. If ASIB won Best Picture, we probably would have gotten at least 20 Jezebel articles by now.

Online ticketing and presales are getting more and more commonplace and has seen steady increases every year. Stuff like Avengers, IM3 and AOU opened so long ago at a time when Fandango or Atom Tickets weren't nearly as utilized or popular as they are today.

Don't really know if outpacing a three-year old movie is something to celebrate, but I'm sure the movie's pre-sales are fine either way.
