  1. The EW article mentions that it's still a thing, but it's happening after this movie. Probably 2021 or 2022
  2. https://deadline.com/2019/01/lily-collins-nicholas-hoult-tolkien-movie-may-release-date-lord-of-the-rings-1202537025/ Called Tolkien, Hoult and Lily Collins star, opens May 10th. Won't be a platform release, but a wide, unsaturated release (like Exotic Marigold, Far From the Madding Crowd, etc.)
  3. Not even joking, I would pay good money to see Bruno Mars as Powerline.
  4. I was talking about YourMother's hypothetical about the movie garnering negative reviews
  5. How? Even with negative reviews and Dragon 2 weeks later, it would have to open to less than 30M for it to miss 100M.
  6. Even the higher end is just barely above Lego Batman. Not great, Bob, but it's still a month away. Everything else is decent tho
  7. In Glass' defense, the other movies didn't have to deal with a Winter Storm that will impact the NorEast this weekend. I'd assume Glass would have had a lot of business in Philadelphia that will likely be shut out on Saturday and Sunday. Still inexcusable and will likely still underperform, considering Han's pre-sales in FL, but it's still an important thing to recognize.
  8. DO NOT QUOTE Glass 3,106 3,978 6,478 61% of A Quiet Place's Wednesday: 30.5M 204% of Hereditary: 27.6M 28% of Jurassic World 2: 41.2M 58% of Ant-Man 2: 44.2M 107% of Equalizer 2: 38.4M 48% of Fallout: 29.2M 96% of The Meg: 43.7M 47% of The Nun: 25.2M 142% of The Predator: 35.1M 31% of Venom: 24.9M 30% of Halloween: 22.8M 43% of Aquaman: 29.2M (Xmas release) 205% of Bumblebee: 44.4M (Xmas release) Yikes. Bumblebee's the biggest one here, and that feels like a stretch, since that had more family appeal. Maybe there's more walk-ups than we think, but there's probably gonna be a lot of meltdowns in the weekend thread. Dragon 3 Early 6,957 4,396 2,329 Captain Marvel 1,118 886 772

  13. DO NOT QUOTE Glass 3,106 3,978 99% of A Quiet Place's Tuesday: 49.9M 338% of Hereditary: 45.8M 31% of Jurassic World 2: 46.1M 66% of Ant-Man 2: 50.3M 173% of Equalizer 2: 62.4M 135% of The Meg: 61.3M 67% of The Nun: 36M 161% of The Predator: 39.6M 31% of Halloween: 23.5M 219% of Bumblebee: 47.4M (Xmas release) That's a real weak Tuesday bump. Is passing Ride Along even a certainty anymore? Dragon 3 Early 6,957 4,396 Captain Marvel 1,118 886
  14. Only if he has a power ballad with Chris Pine. On a sidenote, I'm pretty sure watching this scene in the theater was one of the first realization moments that I thought guys were really hot.
  15. I can't wait for the new Stuart Little movie to have a grown-up Jonathan Lipnicki.
