  1. For star power specifically yes, but Pitt is not a box office draw like Hanks and Cruise. Edit: Also Pitt was barely around in the 80's. He started off in the 90s
  2. https://deadline.com/2022/05/tom-cruise-receives-honorary-palme-dor-as-fighter-jets-take-to-sky-at-top-gun-maverick-cannes-premiere-1235027342/
  3. Two things I want re-released. All the made for tv movies from CBS Saturday Night Movie, and All the made for tv movies from Disney's Wonderful world series.
  4. I'm a huge Elvis fan so I'll watch this but I really wish this wasn't directed by Baz. For those who haven't seen it the 2005 tv movie is probably the best movie about Elvis imo.
  5. I mean, you're comparing it to possibly the greatest 80's song. Not many songs can compete with take my breath away.
  6. Think I already posted this on here before but I can't remember. There's a lot of discussion about the patches. In the original movie the patch are his father's from his Vietnam tour while the patches in the new movie are Mavericks. The the new patches say 85-86, which is when the original came out, and the patches say Indian Ocean Cruise, where the dogfights at the end of the original happened. https://i.imgur.com/JUOTcdh.png patches in first film clearly show they're his fathers from vietnam https://i.imgur.com/HtAVd58.png patches in new film are Mavericks from the dogfight at the end of the original film
  7. I didn't not enjoy this at all. Very disappointed, and had high hopes after the two Ape movies he did.
  8. I listened to a podcast a while back. Long story short, he was friends with Harry and William's mom and she brought them to visit Tom on the set of MI1 when they were kids. He's known them for a long time now.
  9. Anecdotal. Was talking to my friends about the original Top Gun. We all agreed that it's probably one of our least favorite Tom Cruise movies but that the new one looks great and that it's probably the most excited we're been about a Tom Cruise movie in along time.
  10. Kenny Loggins was on the Rob Lowe podcast and said the movie has been screen for about 12 critics and they all thought it was incredible. Lowe claimed everyone he's spoken to that has been screened a copy loved it.
  11. Absolutely horrible movie. The entire movie is basically Exposition, really long exposition, exposition, shit action sequence, really really long exposition, exposition, exposition, exposition, incredibly underwhelming final action sequence, exposition and then it's over and you think no wait that's not it is it, because if it is then what was the point? two and a half hours, there's no story and it feels like half a film.
  12. Training for a stunt in MI8. Source is mission impossible sub on reddit. https://collider.com/tom-cruise-mission-impossible-8-set-image-stunt-plane/
