  1. Well that's it. I just got 1,500 likes on a star wars meme I made, guess I can go home now. Life goals achieved
  2. Given that harry potter is a kids series and Star Wars is for mature adults, I understand why the prequels appeal to those people more than the adult-aimed original films.
  3. I actually like the fact it's not personal. Unknown jedi in unknown places, emphasises how widespread the slaughter is.
  4. You're right, even though I love Star Wars to bits and was genuinely disappointed and upset by The Force Awakens and thought it was awful, I'm just saying that to be "cool". Just to make me feel better about myself (despite the fact I felt absolutely gutted, like my heart had sunk, the day after watching TFA).
  5. Not difficult to have it not make you care about Luke and Leia when for all intents and purposes they weren't in the film.
  6. "it's bad" and "I thought it was bad" are the exact same thing when you are talking about a subject which is inherently 100% subjective. Why are you trying to defend this? We have all heard every argument for and against TFA. I don't know why you are still arguing. "No, you're looking at it wrong, it's just smart storytelling" is just your opinion, get over it, you are not special.
  7. In my experience working in a cinema, if you whine loud enough and for long enough, regardless of whether you're in the right they will give you comp tickets or comp food vouchers.
  8. Tele can you please stop making constructive posts, it detracts from the atmosphere of an opening weekend like this. Thanx
  9. when your local multiplex sells more tickets for the national theatre stream of No Man's Land starring Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen, than Rogue One, on opening night.
  10. I don't really agree, dropping 50% from TFA would still (nominally) make it the highest grossing SW film internationally (except TFA). No it's not great but it is very solid and indicates very good things for the future. You can look at it as a base line - if this is what a spin off with absolutely no relation to the previous movie can get, then might that be the floor for all future SW movies? Just a thought. It indicates SW8 will do extremely well
  11. SW7 was possibly the most anticipated movie in the history of cinema. This is a spin off featuring none of the characters we know and does not have that same event status as TFA. A massive drop is expected. 50% opening weekend would still be 125M OW which would be fine.
  12. My brother said he thought it was great and felt like the original trilogy It's the only thing I've heard about the quality of the film... not even seen any links to Rogue One reviews honestly, it's as if they are hiding from me. I'm not even deliberately blocking everything.
  13. Didn't know he was a dad. Incidentally I watched Bigger Longer & Uncut at the weekend. Twice. It holds up so well, what a genuinely great musical.
  14. Oh derp, forgot Pets was just after X Men, well they were only like a week apart so it still counts And no, there was very little interesting about Finding Dory or Suicide squad, they both met expectations, nothing unique about them at all.
  15. My brother's just sent me a selfie of him waiting for the film to start - the special Rogue One 3D glasses look DOPE.
  16. Hopefully this is a place where I can steer clear of spoilers until I see the movie on Saturday... Gonna be a good weekend. The last few months have been dull as shit at the box office, in fact there's not really been anything exciting since X-Men I'd argue...
