One of the best animated films. One of the best epic films. The greatest epic animated film. Top 20 of American animated films. Top 5 of Disney animated films.
A+

Definitely best of its year. I loved the movie.

Ok, so I messed up the line a little, poor memory .

No offense, but isn't BDSM, and infact erotica and porn on the whole, quite popular in Japan?

Pre-Retcon Beyonder.
Just one line - "The smallest electron in my little finger is more powerful than all of the powers of your universe combined !"

I guess that after the news of spiderman in CA3 it is pretty obvious that it will be everybody's top choice. But apart from that I am really looking forward to Dpctor Strange. I have been literally waiting for that movie for years now. I just can't wait to see Sorcerer Supreme on the Big Screen!

Also, what about SW? I mean of all the runs i have closely read about Titanic's seems to be like the most unbelievable and extraordinary one. The more I look at its grosses - Dom, Os, Weekends, weeklies, dailies or its legs or the buzz that surrounded it or the way it took the world by storm, the more amazed I get. And yet its pretty much clear that Star Wars' run must have been even more unbelievably unbelievable, extraordinarily extraordinary and amazingly amazing. Its possibly the most culturally significant piece of entertainment media of the entire 20th century and definitely the most culturally significant and impactful film of all time.
And to think that yet, released ~40 years before this and thus facing all the hardships I previously mentioned, Gone with the Wind is still almost a full unadjusted Shrek 2 ahead of even it (based on only their initial earnings) .... !!! ..........

Needless to say the fact that Gone with the wind made thrice the amount just two years later and has an adjusted gross of around 800m $ more than it (snow white) is super mind blowing!!!!
-
Plus, US population was like 1/3rd of what it is now and the percentage of population who couldn't afford to spend money on such leisures as films was quite more too.
-
I am surprised nobody thought of this before but - "Snow White" !! I mean the movie was reallu believed to be "Disney's Folly' before its release what with it having an enormous budget of 1.5 mln$. And in 1937, when there were much lesser theaters and when this was the first full length animated feature of all time, it grossed 643 m$ adjusted!!! Then, 80m in 1983, 98m in 1987 and 83m in 1993 for a total adjusted gross of 904 m $ !! The movie is still the 10th highest grossing Dom on adjusting for inflation.

No. Any good act that he ever did was just because he loved lily not because he wanted to do the good. He was not really evil, yes, but still he was not a good person either and I don't really think he can even be called neutral. All in all I guess on a scale of 1 to 10 of from good to bad he would be at 6.5.

Congrats on the oscar nomination. The exclusion of LEGO movie was a surpirise. In all honesty though, I am rooting for The tale of princess Kaguya to win this.
-
So do you guys think $100 million is a reachable, or ,rather, quite possible target now?
-
Wow!
Everything is flopping!

WooHoo! Hurrah for Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z making it to the top 50. To be honest i am quite surprised at pokemon getting this high, but then maybe I am not the only one who loved it as a kid and who has quiet somr fond memories of it. On the other hand i think dragon ball z should have been a lot higher.

I still can't believe Looney toons couldn't even make it to the top 100. If any "saturday mornjng cartoon" deserved it, it was this one. It should have been in the top 25 atleast, if for nothing else than atleast for its legacy, pure classicness, and the mere fact that it brought probably some of the greatest cartoon characters ever all into a single show!

When you say the fifth show so far to be no 1 in a list, do you mean so far in the top 100 list or among all the shows?

#52 Scooby Doo- 154 Points
IMDB Rating:
Aired: 1969-2013 (CBS/ABC/WB/CW/Cartoon Network, multiple series)
Episodes: 327
Genre: Saturday Morning Cartoon
List Trivia: Scooby Doo has been on almost ever channel in the Top 100, but it originally aired on CBS so I counted it towards that. It also has the 8th most episodes in the Top 100, with 327.
Storyline: A group of friends and their dog (Scooby Doo) travel in a van solving strange and hilarious mysteries
Opening Theme:
Well Scooby doo is certainly the best cartoon (not anime)series of all that have yet appeared. 52 Is a decent rank but i had really hoped it'd be in the top 50.
-
Since the best spiderman TV series ever has already appeared at 101st spot, I am guessing that the list is going to be completely devoid of spiderman and maybe even marvel itself whereas Batman:AS will be there in the top 25. That really sucks.
-
So it seems the only anime to get to the top 100 (and hopefully the top 50) is dragon ball Z with Bleach, Naruto, FMA:BH and FMA coming the closest. If only those 4 would have been in the top 100 too....
And to think that I could have single handedly brought all of them (except FMA) to the top 100 by placing them just one or two spots higher...

No! Even FMA and FMA:Brotherhood couldn't make it to the top 100! This is really unbelievable and almost unacceptable!

I'm hoping for a more diverse list this year, with foreign shows and anime making it. If we can get 2 Miyazaki films in the top 20 for animated films, I'm sure we can do that this year!
I guess that would need a top 100 list. For apart from Avatar no other anime seems to have got any chance at the top 50 (apart for, maybe, dragon ball and fullmetal and that too only if you are counting the two parts or reboots.of those both as one).
-
I wanted to ask a question. I saw a few people put dragon ball and dragon ball Z together whereas a few put them seperately. Same goes with scooby doo. Most of the people put the whole franchise in as a single show but I remember one or two listing the individual shows separately on their lists. The same goes with a few other shows too - Fullmetal alchemist, Justice league/Unlimited etc. So how are their points getting counted? Did you count those as one and added the points or counted them as separate ones, giving equal points to the individual shows?
Or will it be different for different cases - sequels, reboots, spin-offs etc?
