  1. And how's that cricket going for you?

    23,786,417 is all you need.

Oh, and these numbers for China are nuts.

Yes because cricket is the single most important thing in the world, isn't it? And anyways cricket is only up and running because of India and its BCCI. I don't see so many indian players rushing to play in the big bash league but your australian players are all up to get auctioned for the IPL.

  2. If TA2 increases that much that could mean a much bigger jump overseas then expected.

We have been expecting near about 200m in china for A2 since last year. Actually the increase isn't really that much when you take into act the fact that this is a market that has been growing by atleast 30% for a few years. GotG made more than the first avengers last year here!

  3. Congratulations BH6! :D

This marks WDAS' second consecutive win and marks Disney's 3rd consecutive win overall. This might well extend into the longest consecutive wins for the studio since Rango broke the chain Pixar (And Pixar did not release an animated film that year) was on seeing as Inside Out or the Good Dinosaur will probably win next year, followed by Moana or Zootopia, and a Wrinkle in Time or a Pixar film, and Giants. That equates to about six years of Disney dominance in this field. Of course, this is ONLY if the films have great critical and audience reception AND Disney and Pixar just keep bringing the goods but as always, you can never be 100% sure as Disney might end it's new Renaissance before the six year is up and who knows, a new animation giant might crawl up on us. :D

    2014: FROZEN

    2015: Big Hero 6

2016: Inside Out or The Good Dinosaur

    2017: Moana/ Finding Dory / Zootopia

    2018: Toy Story 4

    2019: Giants

  4. Weekend Estimates (02/21-22)

    200.jpg?1422332306200.jpg?1415071199

    01 (--) ¥320 million ($2.7 million), 0, ¥320 million ($2.7 million), American Sniper (Warner Bros.) NEW

    02 (01) ¥138 million ($1.2 million), -45%, ¥640 million ($5.4 million), Terrace House: Closing Door (Toho) Week 2

    03 (03) ¥129 million ($1.1 million), -20%, ¥8.59 billion ($73.2 million), Big Hero 6 (Disney) Week 10

    04 (02) ¥103 million ($880,000), -39%, ¥890 million ($7.6 million), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Paramount) Week 3

    05 (04) ¥50 million ($425,000), -45%, ¥570 million ($4.8 million), Mortdecai (Kadokawa) Week 3

    06 (06) ¥47 million ($400,000), -32%, ¥1.19 billion ($10.2 million), Annie (Sony) Week 5

    07 (--) ¥45 million ($380,000), 0, ¥60 million ($510,000), The Fault in Our Stars (Fox) NEW

    08 (11) ¥45 million ($380,000), -10%, ¥290 million ($2.6 million), Mr. Children [Reflection] (Nikkatsu) Week 3

    09 (09) ¥44 million ($375,000), -07%, ¥7.55 billion ($64.4 million), Yo-Kai Watch: It's the Secret of Birth, Nyan! (Toho) Week 10

    10 (05) ¥38 million ($325,000), -53%, ¥210 million ($1.8 million), Fifty Shades of Grey (Toho-Towa) Week 2

    11 (07) ¥36 million ($310,000), -43%, ¥760 million ($6.5 million), Joker Game (Toho) Week 4

    12 (08) ¥31 million ($265,000), -48%, ¥140 million ($1.2 million), The Mourner (Toei) Week 2

    >American Sniper should be the first film this calendar year to debut above ¥300 million, and delivers one of Eastwood's better debuts in recent years. Unless legs turn out surprisingly bad, which they should be quite the opposite of really with Eastwood's name and the Oscar buzz, it'll probably exceed ¥2 billion (about $20 million).

I'll post a list of Clint Eastwood's films opening weekends and totals later on today. Japan has been one of his best markets for decades.

    >The Fault in Our Stars joins the young adult/international book phenomenon disappointment club, along with Fifty Shades of Grey, Twilight, and The Hunger Games. None of these films have had any impact in Japan, often barely even debuting in the Top 5.

    >Mr. Children [Reflection]'s weekend estimate is a very, very rough guess. It should be in the Top 10 again thanks to its performance at the Usual Locations alone, but it doesn't seem to be doing much of anything else elsewhere.

Smart people Japan has then, avoiding such useless young adult book adaptions. (Although fault in our stars is among the better ones)

  5. While I agree with you in theory, it is impossible to prove with absolute certainty a negative. Therefore in the interest of science I do say one thing. Let Them Fight!

No, a healthy discussion is perfectly ok. People may post their opinions or reviews and others may ask "why" or "how" over certain points indeed. But to call people "weird" or "sad" or to tell them to go get a life just because they don't like a certain movie or their opinions don't match with yours is, well... sad.

Btw I myself really liked the movie so I'm not saying this just because I was personally offended or something.
