Ryan Gosling has zero star power. This opening is proof.

June is not a good month for superhero movies. May and July are the best. Superhero movies tend to overperform in these months.

Croods 3 should be made. It will do 400-450M. Croods 2 came during COVID period and still managed 200+WW.

Either one of GvK or KFP4 has to get to $200M, come on!
Both should.

Reports of Fall Guy's death might've been greatly exaggerated. This is about half of what Dune and GxK opened to in Australia, and about four times was Civil War opened to
So like 160-200M overseas and 100-150M domestically.

Alien doing more than The Mummy doesn't sit well with me. The Mummy for me is the definition of a well made action adventure summer popcorn movie with oodles of charisma and chemistry.

I don´t think so. It's headed for $350 at max, it needs very good legs to get to $400. I think it will do $190 in USA and $350 OS for a $540 total
Poor result honestly after 80M ow. Meh.

Looks pretentious crap

The revised estimate from WB had GXK lower at 31.2m instead of 31.7m whereas Dune 2 goes up 200k to 7.4m
Disaster for GxK.

Hopefully actuals push GvK to 33M.

GxK looked like 13M+ last I checked
Was hoping 15+ and another 12+ Sunday
35+ 2nd weekend
Now 30+ 2nd weekend

So monster verse franchise seems to be a front loaded one like the X-Men franchise. Those movies even with good wom always struggled on 2nd weekend.

The rumours that this isn't great are kind of surprising. I think the trailers look awesome lol.
Well it maybe a good movie, but comparison to previous trilogy might be hurting it

The IWIs had I think ...

Was hoping it would crack 200M with actuals, but ok. As long as it manages to gross $600+M WW and becomes highest grossing film of Kong and Godzilla franchise, all is good.

Imax, then 4dx.
But truth to be told, today's IMAX lacked the feeling, i watched it in different theater, maybe there was some difference in screen quality or something.
Which imax theatres did you watch it in? Which one you found better?

So far I've watched the movie thrice, 2 times IMAX 3d and once 4dx 3d.
Which format did you enjoy GxK most?

Furiosa kinda feels like it’s gonna underwhelm and only get to 105 or something. Sad! 😢
That movie has bomb written all over it. Nothing will save it. Not even great reviews.

Big number for GxK.
Honestly surprised too, I figured GvK had the novelty of seeing the two fight each other, but the trailers for GxK were kind of lacking a similar hook to me. Turns out GA just wants monster movies.
More like GVK didn't reach its full potential at the time of release atleast domestically. Had GvK released today, it would be doing better than what GxK is doing. Lot of people caught it on OTT and enjoyed it enough to come for the sequel. That and the audience that couldn't go for GvK are coming for this.

We were all distracted by how well Dune 2 and KFP4 did that no one saw how big GxK would be.
And Ghostbusters
March delivered big time. All big films did well.

Like Rise of the beasts. I had fun with that movie, so this won't be any different.

This is definitely one of the most consistent franchise in terms of quality. Not sure how it will fare at the boxoffice. Maybe 450+ or 500+ depending on overseas.
