Plus $318.5M in the US/Can = $916M WW. Getting there!

I think OS-Japan can add $16 million and domestic can add $20 million which would require a $54 million total in Japan (It's already done $6 million) which is possible but not likely. I think a $45 million total in Japan is likely. If domestic can push $343.5 million ($25 million to go) and OS-Japan can pull in $20 million, I'd say $1 billion is likely. But obviously that OS-Japan number probably won't happen....anyways we'll see

I cannot say how happy it makes me that Zoo is above The Boss.

Come on Zoo, get above Barbershop this weekend!

That might make it Top 5 for the 9th week in the row. And if The Huntsman falls below Zoo after this weekend which I think it will, it could even be number 5 on when Captain America 3 opens (No opener will make more than $2 million that weekend). Top 5 for 10 weekends and against Cap 3...wouldn't that be something?  In comparison, Frozen was Top 5 for 11 weekends so even the current 8 weekends for Zootopia is impressive!

Another good hold for the bunny.

Actually beat out The Boss for 4th by $182.

TJB and Zoo were the only movies in the top 15 to increase on Thursday.

The Mouse House is going to cross $1B DOM on May 6, may 7th at the latest. 127-128 days, almost 40 days faster than Uni's run last year.

Where did you get that Zoo number?

The main new releases are Captain America 3 and Chihayafuru. Marvel isn't a juggernaut like it is in the rest of the world, and I'm not too sure about that other movie.

Yeah I knew about Cap 3 but not the other. And yeah, I agree with your point on Marvel movies, especially Captain America which isn't very popular. I wasn't really worried about that movie's effect on Zoo in the first place. More so for local films but looks like there is only one.

Holy sh**! 14 times! And I though that my 8 times were already big lol. I don't know who holds the world record but I think you are a good contender ^^

15 times now!  and yeah my goal is 2 times a week for all of March and April and once a week for all of May and once in June for a total of 21 times! It gets harder and harder finding theaters every week but I manage! I just love that movie so much haha

    $907M + $25M domestic + $15M OS without japan = $947M ( needs $53M from Japan )

Japan debuted this weekend with $4M and that's already included in WW number so it needs $57M from Japan.

    Could Zootopia reach that???

It's possible. Would require about a 14x multiplier. Corpse mentioned it having a fair chance at $45 million. If glowing WOM proves stronger than competition, it's certainly a possibility. Not likely yet though. Let's wait till next weekend.

I also feel that of Zootopia stalls at $995 million ($52 million in Japan [13x] which I think is quite possible), Disney will push it to $345 million domestic with a theater expansion so it can reach $1 billion.

I doubt it as far as his pessimism. It's not hard to look at the numbers and see that it will be an uphill climb to achieve that particular goal. Zoo is practically at the point of being locked to NOT get 1B unless Japan magically sprouts Frozen like legs. TJB isn't doing the huge numbers in non-asian territories that it needs to do in order to challenge 1B without being a question till the day it does it.

Zootopia needs Big Hero 6 - like legs to reach $1 billion. From its $908 million likely actual total as of this weekend, it should add $24 million domestic and $11 million overseas minus Japan (made $6.8 million this weekend) for a $943 million total. It would require $57 million more from Japan so a $61 million total. Coming off of a $4.1 million weekend, it needs a 14.9x multiplier which compares to Big Hero 6's 15x. I'm not saying $1 billion is going to be easy though. Hopefully Golden Week and glowing WOM can get Zoo to $61 million in Japan. And btw, using Frozen's multiplier of 33x would put Zootopia's final gross at $135 million which would make it beat Toy Story 3 and become 3rd highest grossing animated movie.
