  1. Who said what Django did was not impressive? And by the way you still can't compare these two movies opening midweek and weekend, no matter how hard you try. Django was impressive in it's own way. And how can you realistic expect anymore than that jump for a Tarantino movie? Were you expecting it to do 50m, 60m or 70m? And that jump is a lot more impressive than what most other directors achieve these days. He is in low scale box office compared to big names like Cameron and Nolan, and this what his best movies box office wise can achieve.
  2. But we are talking true dollars here regardless of admissions. And you can't really compare a midweek opener to a prober weekend opener. And it's for him compared to his previous movies a smash hit opening weekend. And I am only saying this in the scale of 30m to 40m.
  3. Forget what it's going to make in total, nobody for sure knows that. The OW is a smash considering it's just become his highest earner for the first 3 days.
  4. So, should his movies underperform instead? Any uptick is better than nothing. It might not be as big as some would have liked or even he would have liked, but it still become his number 1 opener.
  5. I wouldn't really mind a performances like those two movies, but yeah I do expect more like 60m-70m opener and 200m-220m finish. Just shows how amazing the legs of his movies were really. Other than TDKR (which had fine legs), they all had beautiful long legs. His fans are growing and so should his box office performances.
  6. It's a smash for record OW for a director who never had more than 30m+ opener.
  7. Even the average of all his movies scream 180m+ Average: $182,423,005Opening Gross Average (8): $70,573,173 (Wide Releases Only)
  8. I just remembered (after mr. pink mentioned Dunkirk in the monday thread) that Nolan's last two movies performed like this... 7/21/17 Dunkirk WB $189,740,665 4,014 $50,513,488 3,720 5 ...and this 11/5/14 Interstellar Par. $188,020,017 3,561 $47,510,360 3,561 6 ...so the next logical prediction is...
  9. I don’t like his type of comedy, but the man does sell a lot movies, he doesn’t seem to get credit for. He even sells bad just like will smith once could.
  10. Nah, that’s just outright wrong. Dwayne isn’t like Tom or even Kevin. He only has hits because of the people and the brand thats around him.
