  1. Why does everyone hate the new Ghostbusters movie? Looks so much better than the 2016 movie, Reitman is a talented filmmaker, and the screening at Cinemacon went really well.
  2. You seem to have little awareness that this is not an argument. Just makes you sound like a douche policing opinions based on perceived popularity of that opinion. THAT is weird.
  3. It's odd to me that this isn't getting credit for being a Me Too movie.
  4. Jeff Bridges gives a great performance, unlike Lee Pace's walking cartoon. And I'm not lying. What an odd way to respond.
  5. Really hoping they don't go the lazy route of simply pulling X-men from FOX via the multiverse. I don't think they will because it'll mean no Wolverine. I want to see mutants pop up organically in the MCU.
  6. It is better. Superhero movies are only as good as their villains and Ego is a much better villain than friggin' Ronan.
  7. Makes no sense. It's like the desperation to get these movies out ASAP has led to terrible decision-making. Venom was better off in September, or better yet, move it to January and sell off Morbius to Netflix.
  8. I'm still so confused by WB's strategy here. They're not adding subs anymore, not to any significant degree anyway, and it's been proven that they're losing tons of money by going day-and-date, mostly because of piracy. Suicide Squad being the biggest example. How do they justify continuing the simultaneous thing? They're guaranteeing that Dune, King Richard, and likely even Matrix 4 will suffer immensely because of it.
  9. Cruella and Jungle Cruise likely made enough on Disney Plus in addition to justify the sequels. Free Guy is the rare original hit with franchise potential, so naturally they're going to pounce on that.
  10. Yup, I'm in Texas, so I haven't been to the theater since Old. Tried to make it for The Green Knight but all showings were packed (AMC here is no longer at reduced capacity, or at least wasn't at that time), so we decided to wait for on-demand. Jungle Cruise and Suicide Squad we were planning to watch at home anyway. Free Guy and Candyman are the only two that I'm missing out on, which is a shame since I always love being a part of opening weekend when something outperforms expectations.
  11. I still don't understand how so many cinephiles find it incomprehensible, unless they've only seen it once. After a second viewing everything made sense to me.
  12. Anyone know who they're fighting in this? Really the only two options are Russia and China, and given Hollywood's fealty to the latter I'm assuming it's Russia.
  13. Yeah...I mean, they're still no Blade Runner 2049. I recall doing a full blu ray rewatch on my 4K TV in the lead up to Endgame and came away wondering why everything looked so much better compared to when I saw them in theaters. I still think this trailer is nearly flawless. But that final shot of Doc Ock, given the importance of the moment, it's...it's a problem.
  14. I think this is a function of Stewart having a very specific screen presence, and so for some it may be difficult to dispense with that image.
  15. That's simply not true. I don't know if you watch a lot of movies, but for example, just this year... Judas and the Black Messiah Cherry The Woman in the Window Cruella (mostly the camerawork and staging) Army of the Dead The Green Knight The Suicide Squad Hell, even Snyder Cut and Reminiscence. All of the above have wonderful photography, and almost none of them have a DP on the level of a Roger Deakins.
  16. They all look better on 4K television sets where the colors pop a bit more by virtue of the image being condensed. But yeah, cannot fathom why Feige wants it that way. It's even more obvious after revisiting scenes from Raimi's films. Those movies really pop.
  17. Shit like this is why I don't come here often. Do you even know of Pablo Lorrain?
  18. I'm excited for it, but in the wake of that trailer there have been a lot of tweets with gifs/clips of the Raimi pictures, and suddenly I was reminded just how un-cinematic the Marvel movies are to some extent. Raimi has a keen visual eye.
  19. This is where the multiverse concept would lose me. That's an incredibly lazy way to introduce mutants. Besides, from a practical standpoint, it won't work. I'm sure they'd rather cast the X-men anew and not be beholden to what FOX was doing beforehand.
  20. As much as I'm excited for this, if we're not getting Kraven in the next Black Panther movie I don't see why we can't have him in a third Spidey movie. Would've made a lot of sense to do Kraven's Last Hunt after Far From Home's ending. Also, where's Matt Murdock? C'mon Feige...
  21. The first time I noticed it was Dark World. Age of Ultron looked great in spite of the grey (and at least in that case it had a purpose, as much of the film was set in Eastern Europe). Iron Man 3 didn't have it, neither did Winter Soldier for the most part. By Marvel standards, this trailer looks pretty good. Shang Chi on the other hand?
