Honestly, it seems like it's the first "bad" day of Dune's run yet with a 39% drop from last Saturday it's still not even bad, it's amazing.
Oh expectations, how you have ruined it for us

I love this fight for 1st place that's going on between Dune and Kung Fu Panda 4
It's so weird to see a movie win #1 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday but lose the #1 spot on Tuesday.
Every day is a new thriller. Will Dune win the weekend or will KFP4 extend the lead it has on Friday?

What is the general reasonable consensus on Dune Part 2’s projected WW total when its run is finished? Still a shot at $700M WW? Or has the performance in Asia plus lack of Russia killed that dream?
Well China legs have been slightly improving so the prospects of $700M are getting better a bit.

12.8 (+60%)
9.2 (-28%)
Gets Dune 2 to $30M
It's definitely a scenario that's possible, but Dune 2 would have to have a terrific drop on Sunday. Let's see if it can do it. This Sunday is especially harsh.
A 35% drop is more likely instead and gets it to $29M
If the Saturday jump is abnormally high (~70%), then $30M is highly likely, if not essentially locked unless the movie drops like a rock (>40%) on Sunday (which it so far has shown no indication of happening)
I believe in the power of PLF

Holds for this have been insane. If it follows Panda 3 from this point on, it finishes with 215M+. Now, I don’t think it’s going to keep up with that movie, but 200 doesn’t seem THAT far fetched right now.
Remember that it's spring break though. The real test is next week

I think it's becoming quite obvious the kind of weekend we're walking into

If that holds that's a great Wednesday drop for sure

Btw why is this thread in the International Box Office forum?
It's part of domestic BO therefore it should be in the main BO forum. It could just be a thread like any other that gets bumped from time to time.

32.66% 2nd weekend drop for Dune 2, amazing (1 254 048 vs 1 862 192)

Kung Fu Panda will need quite a big jump to reclaim #1 on Tuesday but it's doable. Gonna be hard though.
We'll see how it goes

Yes... everything is proceeding as I had foreseen for an epic 3rd week-end drop

Which Fallout Game?
A lot of the old timers think 4 was a step down from the previous games..too much emphasis on being a FPS shooter, instead of the RPG emphasis of the first Three. (Fallout Tactics was a tacitcal wargame not a RPG.
Irony that Jonathan NOlan, Chriss kid brother, is a writer/showrunner for this. The Nolan Brothers seem to have a thing for things Nuclear.....
The first one, the original

I remember playing the Fallout demo, you could only access one town, and that was it, I forgot the name.
I didn't understand English back then so I just ran around shooting people.
So basically, the Fallout experience

44% drop for a sequel is amazing. I mean Top Gun 2 managed a miracle but that was a different case.
Rarely do you see sequels dropping that softly. Lovely!- 2

Is it me or did the-numbers adjust the Dune2 estimates?
It's now
12.2
19.6
14.4
I seem to remember it initially was
12.3
19.8
13.9
But my memory might be playing tricks on me

The movie also explains this, although the books go into more detail. If he does nothing, an even worse fate awaits the universe.
...We'll have to trust his word on this one
But also, the path he chooses is the only path where he gets everything he wants. Revenge, among others. We'll see in Dune 3 if Denis changes anything with that, but it's the gist of it. There are other futures, but they are of no interest to him.

I wish it would, but the odds are it won't play out like GOTG3.
In the later parts of its run GOTG3 was starting to have summer hugely benefitting late legs. Dune 2 won't have that.
Also it's losing PLFs soon. And it's not a four quadrant movie.
But the $300M dream isn't entirely dead yet. It's on life support at best, though.
