I agree it can do it, however a bigger opening weekend doesn't always equate to a bigger overall gross.

Endgame will be more front loaded than Infinity War, it won't neccessarly make more. Beating Titanic will still be difficult for it.

If Endgame doesn't beat Titanic then Jim is guaranteed the top 4 spots by 2022, then possibly the top 6 spots by 2025 if studio filmmaking can't keep up.

In what scenario does it make $500m in China but make around $1.5b worldwide? That's literally going from $2.57b worldwide-china to $1b... a 61% drop.

If you want to talk about differences in gross in specific countries the biggest change (by far) and most obvious one will be China. Do I need to remind you that it grossed >$200m in China back in 2010, smashing the current highest grossing record by 3x.

Max is right though, it's now been show average movies with big followings can make $2b. Just wait until something legitmately good which is a full on movie experience raising the bars and blowing minds come along. what ever that may be

Gotta be more specific. Are you talking from Avatar to Avatar 2, or Avatar 2 to Avatar 3? Empire was released 2 years after Star Wars. Right now Avatar adjusted is well over 3 billies.
