  1. Ok I know how to save Star Wars, we retcon the sequel trilogy (important), then stop with any spins offs as they ruin the star wars economy (look at cape films). We gotta then make a new sequel, it's what The Force Awakens should have had and it has Luke central to the plot from the start. The universe or galaxy or whatever has been somewhat peaceful since Luke saved the day in ROTJ. Sith are back and they made a scheme to get back into power, they're back and with a vengeance. The plot revolves around Luke and two disciples of his, they're best friends or brother/sister,brother/brother etc. That's it all you need to do, no problem star wars.
  2. You guys aren't going to like this theory but I've said it before and here it goes. General Audience didn't love TFA anywhere as much as anyone let on, it was simply put, pretty unmemorable for a Star Wars movie. So what we've had is the die hards all barrel in last weekend like they always do. Then after that is where the GA us meant to pick up the slack. I think TFA and close sequel fatigue are both bigger reasons for low end numbers rather than WOM on TLJ.
  3. 👍😎 amen. I saw the Tue figure and saw it was low so I asked why and got called dumb. The calender accounts for some of the drop.. but going from TFA' 42m to 21m or something... 40% more kids off doesnt drop the number into the abyss where only cameron can see it in his self built submarine.
  4. The MOUSE isn't big enough of a reason?? The mouse cares little of quality, the mouse will add childrens humour to your favourite ip for a dollar. The mouse is coming for Avatar but Jim most stand strong. If Jim can't no one can, it's a landmark battle fir directors.
  5. Obviously this film is doing well in terms of all films. Its about expectations though. When someone calls a football player bad they don't need to preface that with. "In respect to other professional football players in his league and at the highest played...". Thats just silly as it's obvious to everyone what they meant. Well almost everyone, you have those who say "he's better than you though!".. well thats completely missing the point you DINGO. The Last Jedi only had a limited range it was going to drop into, something like 1.1b to 1.8b ww. Now if we limit our vocabulary to the words incredible, amazing, great.. how are we going to differientate between 1.1b and 1.8b. It's about expectations!
  6. Maybe TLJ's performance is balancing the force.
  7. Huh? Did you read the whole article. It's he said she said shit. A Rotten Tomatoes representative told HuffPost they are taking the claim “very seriously” and have a team of “security, network, social, database experts who monitor all of our platforms and they haven’t seen any unusual activity.”
  8. This article is false, I know this because it was actually me, every single rating and review. All me.
  9. I know we like to read star wars anecdotes so here goes. I was talking to my Dad who barely goes to the cinema or watches the latest films, he somehow ended up on the topic of Star Wars. "That new star wars movie is having a hard time online, I heard it had the biggest difference between critic and audience score of any movie!" -Dad "Well I won't be watching it, the last one was bad"-Jimbo "I think it's funny how the fans are acting like children, it makes me want to go watch it"-Dad "I thought you hadn't watched The Force Awakens."-Jimbo silence Whats surprising to me was that he brought RT up, didn't think he would know about that site.
  10. Well that's progress so congratulations on that, we now have a vocal minority instead of trolls.
