In a very competitive year for Best Original Screenplay, this is one of many exciting categories in terms of nominees. It's great to see Coco get the nomination even though I haven't seen it yet!
A very good Supporting Actress category in my opinion! Favorites of mine that didn't make my ballot are in too! Laurie Metcalf is the one I'm happiest about for sure!
Some very interesting TV series nominations. But I'll be honest: I don't think Rick and Morty deserves its spot over shows like This Is Us and Handmaiden's Tale and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. That's just me.
Now, this is the category Star Wars belongs in, but perhaps I'm glad it only made one of them.
This is a great lineup. I have to say, Wolf Warrior II comes as a surprise to me, but it certainly deserves its spot here.
I was kinda sad when I had to take Gal Gadot off my ballot, but it's a sigh of relief to see that she made it here. She did a tremendous job.
There are some Actress snubs here and there but the list is well rounded so I won't complain.
I am very happy that Richard Strickland made it in; I'm also happy for those that were rooting for Oscar and The Prognosticator, and I'm also happy to see the complex and intriguing Kylo Ren make it in as well.
Pretty good nominees for Production Design; I think if Darkest Hour failed to get a nomination here, it'll likely struggle to get any nominations outside of Gary Oldman.
I'm more than ecstatic that there are six nominees for the categories displayed so far!
Though Star Wars making Most Soul Crushing Box Office Run is like...
Octavia Spencer is one of my personal favorite performers working in film right now, even if she has been falling a casting niche. Here's hoping this widens the spectrum of roles she will be able to take.
And I do like how she's working with the director of The Help again. I'm also glad that he's getting more work as well.
The members of Box Office Theory have committed an egregious wrong. Even in this down year for animation, I can name so many other animated film that were much, much better than The Boss Baby. We have failed as voters and as film enthusiasts. All of us.
