That’s great, and I sympathize with it but there’s some unnecessary hate that this movie has been getting ever since KOTM came out . Maybe it doesn’t help that there’s very few of us Godzilla fans to back it up Vs. everyone else.

They’re not gonna dump this in January or HBO MAX. This is not another Dark Phoenix/New Mutants scenario. No major reshoots + test screenings were good not disastrous (even if some test screenings in the past have proven that they don’t reflect the general consensus of the final product). Its exhausting to see this attitude over and over again for this film and the Monsterverse in general. People here really forgot that in the end of their run, Godzilla 2014 and Kong: Skull Island were successful. Outside of being a great book, I don’t understand this certainty that Dune will be this grand breakout hit.

Bad taste wasn’t even that big, people just weren’t interested in seeing it. A King Kong/Godzilla movie on the other hand should at least grab eyeballs when the trailer uploads on YouTube and social media.

Dune is too inaccessible to audiences. People thought Sonic and Bad Boys For Life were gonna flop and that BOP was gonna succeed. This might be another one of those cases. KOTM may have underperformed but this movie has a bigger hook and only 3 recurring characters, so if they won’t market it as a direct sequel it is safe.

If it stays it’s gonna be for the awards season if anything, because Godzilla vs. Kong has a bigger pull

They won’t push back this movie, it’s way too late They can push back Black Widow and F9 though. The virus should be dead by May so if anything things should be back to normal in June.

Put Dune on HBO

It should’ve come out on Father’s Day weekend (June 19th) or Independence Day weekend (July 3rd)

So disappointed in this

Wasn’t Black Widow supposed to come out on July 31st, 2020 (Morbius current release date) when GOTG 3 was set for this year? I could see a possible rearrangement between Disney and Sony, if not then Black Widow could come out on Labor Day weekend or something.

I can’t wait to see how Blumhouse is gonna adapt the other Universal monsters. I could see the creature from the Black lagoon next.

The best scene was the restaurant. My jaw stayed dropped for like 10 minutes afterwards.

@ViewerAnon how’s the tone of the movie? Is it closer to the seriousness of 2014? Or is it more lighthearted fun like Kong: Skull Island and KOTM?
