  1. Yeah, I watched it four times which is something I very rarely do with new movies. It just had that immediate effect on me, and every time I started watching it again, I was instantly drawn in. It's not even the most enjoyable movie to watch - far from it - but it's just so alive, so dynamic thanks to nothing more than two great actors and a hell of a script. Almost every line of dialogue makes you think, and I often found myself wanting to reply to the characters and participate in the discussion - and there's something great about that feeling. I have to say, while I'm paying less and less attention to the awards shows as years go by, I'm still mystified how the film received zero Emmy nominations, and in general received much less attention compared to Mildred Pierce, Cinema Verite and Too Big to Fail. It might end up the most underseen movie of the year.

  3. Drive Rango Midnight in Paris Submarine Beginners Hanna And a special shout-out to Mildred Pierce and The Sunset Limited which were made for TV but have more cinematic brilliance in them than just about any movie released in theaters this year, with the exception of Drive.
