It recovered from AOTC which had way more hate. It will recover from TLJ (and we don't even know if TLJ killed this franchise or if the franchise really even died).
AOTC was a bad movie and people didn't like it. It ends there. Nobody came out to say that AOTC is a misunderstood genius space opera.
TLJ was at best mediocre, and people didn't like it. LF decided to bury their heads in the sand and proclaim that anyone who didn't like the movie is an idiot. Ruin Johnson and the media Disney paid off doubled down on that and we saw the result with Solo's box office.
Now episode 9 has a rare chance to make things up with the fanbase, but I don't really count on it. -
Star Wars did the cardinal mistake of turning on its fans. It will never recover and will always be a ghost of what it used to be.

Thats like one of the most ridiculous statements ive seen in a long time.
Forget the plot. Forget the dialogue. See The Last Jedi purely as the film, as the visual medium that it is. Its one of the must stunning and beutifully looking blockbusters of the decade. The cinematography, the lighting, the editing - everything is just on point. Add to that a masterfull color palette and just a sense of scale and this film is just one visual masterpiece:
Its so fucking gorgeous to look at.
Stating that TLJ is a film for people who are not fans of filmmaking is utter bullshit, sorry.
While I sort of agree on the visuals part, which were really good, but not quite impressive compared to others, I have to disagree on your first 2 sentences. The plot, the editing, the dialogue and the characters are to film making as integral as the visuals. And TLJ is a lazy attempt in all of those. -
The Last Jedi is a movie for people who are not fans of film-making.

The Last Jedi is one of the most boring blockbusters in the past years, but all the press about it is absolute bonkers. From "critics were forced to like it" to "the fans ruined the franchise". It's just a bad movie, calm your tits.

This list is ridiculous, Aquaman has better visual effects than all of them.
This is going to drive the DC fans nuts and add more fuel to the bias theories.
The bias theories did not address how Suicide Squad won the Oscar from Star Trek though.

Friendly reminder that Black Panther did over 2 times JL's BO. Infinity War did over 3 times JL's BO.

No wonder humanity is becoming more horrible with each generation.
You speak a lot of idiotic things, but this takes the cake.
The adveristy newer generations in the west face compared to the adversity their progenitors (or people in non advanced countries) have faced is minimum. You think you are oppressed because not enough superheroes in movies share the same gender with you? Meanwhile, everyone and their grandmother in Europe/US/West have an iphone/samsung etc that someone in Phillipines works 18 hours per day for peanuts to make, half the countries that had the "luck" to have oil/natural resources have been invaded by our precious leaders, and I could go on for ages but you get the point. Join the rest of us in reality please.

Me too, except for when DC movies fail. I don't even hate DC, it's just fun

Looks like Marvel doesn't trust female directors to do action scenes.
Can you blame them?

and this shows Disney critics aren't bought? I'm not saying any data can prove that either way except for bank account details of critics or maybe expensed vacations ("early screenings") and Disney paid for hotels for critics.
this is not exclusive to disney tough, all companies do this. -
Critics don't like DC because they're generally biased against bad movies.

SW9 thread is locked. The children are having a tantrum again.
I really don't care about SW, but man, the SW meltdowns are even better than the DC meltdowns.
Pretty sure that the just from Ruin Johnson to Jar Jar Abrams will produce the shitstorm of the century.

I won the argument the moment Solo was proven to be a bust.
Whatever you believe to present as an argument here is nothing more than parroting whatever Ruin Johnson and the paid shills have been parroting for a year now.
See, when you're right about something, attacking someone's person is the last thing you do. Save the "bigots" and the "racists" for where they really apply: SW fandom had no problem with Jyn or Donnie Yen in Rogue One for example, and their discontent with Rose and Holdo is legitimate, because they have 0 redeeming qualities as characters.*
*Holdo actually has 1 redeeming quality, being the brave character who sacrifices themselves for the greater good of the resistance. But around 10 minutes after that, Fin tries to do something similar, and instead he gets lectured. Whoever wrote the script for the movie is obviously not very strong with themes.
