season 7 of game of thrones had so many WTF moments to me. from nobody important dying in the 7x04 battle to the night king attacking a flying dragon and not the one that is little standing still while people climb on him

Problem is that all the compelling characters died, except for Jaime.

All the main characters left alive rank from unbearable to one note, with the exception of Bronn who is just just fun to watch.

I've been a sporadic lurker on this board for a bit but created an account as I didn't see any mention of this anywhere.

Based on my boxofficemojo, the MCU should formally overtake the Star Wars franchise in terms of biggest inflation adjusted domestic box office. With Mondays estimated $5.4M for CM, the respective tallies for the franchises are:

    MCU - $7,561.5M over 21 films

Star Wars - $7,560.7M over 19 "films" (BOM includes various re-issues and special releases)

Next biggest franchise I can see in this metric is James Bond ($5B over 25 films).

MCU probably adds another billion at least to their total before Episode IX comes out, and has a bigger 2020 and beyond pipeline, so, the chance of Star Wars retaking the title any time soon seems slim.

Inflation adjusted isn't the be all metric, but seems like the best available to compare.

Hope they included the Star Wars holiday special, because LF has done everything in their power to make this movie dissapear, but i feel like every SW fan should watch it once a year, just as a reminder that SW is shit.

His notes in IM2 have a cube like image which he calls the hypercube. Is this or is it not the Tesseract? I don’t know.

In maths and linguistics, it means the same thing. Both words are ancient greek, the only difference is that tesseract specifies 4 dimensions, while hypercube doesn't, which means it could be 5 or more dimensions as well.

Who did I insult? My friends are incels dude. It's not just because of this. You literally know nothing about them other than one screenshot I took. There is so much more. Stop acting like you know more about them than I do. They aren't mentally ill either. Also, I don't think there really is a study that shows that mental illness is a cause of being an Incel. Maybe show where you got that bullshit from? And i have no sympathy for those who are unable to realise that they are mentally ill but are just spreading hate.

Most ignorant post of the century. Literally shameful.

You used incel as an insult, so it's an insult. You used it as a derogatory term.

Also, mental health issues does not equal mentally ill. We don't call trans people mentally ill, but we do recognise that gender dysphoria is a mental health issue. now if the behaviour of people who are willing to shoot up strangers sound mentally healthy to you, that's your opinion. Bringing up studies, or lack thereof, is not an argument, since it's been proven many times how fallible the academia system is (Sokal affair etc). If you have specific points from a study though, i'm happy to examine them.

Last, let me remind you that you are spreading hate too. We have correctional systems and facilities in our society, don't you think we should put them to use in cases we need to? If someone is wrong about something, shouldn't we show them a better way? How are we going to do this if instead of being the better people. we fall to their level and respond to their hate with hate?

insult anyone who dares to criticise

Didn't you do the same like 3 posts back? Also, for all the hardon you have for "incels", who seem to live rent free in your head, you haven't taken the time to realize that it's very likely that a lot of those people face mental health issues. Unless mental health is a joke to you, I expect you to be more thoughtful in your discourse from now on.  You're supposed to be a good guy, right?

So, what do you say, do you really think I should still try?

Yes. To give you an idea, every episode has a theme. There is an episode about mafia movies. There is an episode about action movies. There is an episode about horror movies. There is an episode about procedurals like Law & Order. There is an episode about different dimensions.  The whole series is a rabbithole of awesomeness.

Also, the attention to detail is incredible, the things you can catch on a second watch will amaze you.

  7. @terrestrial my point about Community is that it easily transcends genre, because the only requirement there is to really like it, is to like movies and tv.  It feels a bit awkward in the first episodes till you get used to it, but once you pick up the cues, it's a wild ride, at least till the end of the 3rd season.

In any case, there is no description that will do it justice.

Community has nothing in its summary that's sounds new to me, no in a big way new approach.

I belief its a great series based on a fast skim over the reactions and here to see preference (in BOT), but its story does nothing for me.

The impact to/on later more famous writers, TV-series making, female leads in supernatural worlds,... I think Whedon's bigger.

Maybe you shouldn't judge something by its imdb description then. Community broke down every single trope and genre tv and cinema has introduced, with intelligent humour and deep characterization. The direction in the Russo's episodes is amazing.

The only reason community was not more successful is bad management from nbc, and certain cast members meltdowns.

The Sony team is in the midst of figuring out how best to exploit its intellectual property across the film and television groups. And not just for its crown jewel, “Spider-Man,” but also in areas where it has a potential competitive advantage, such as its access to IP from PlayStation and Sony Music.

That said, the studio is aware of its association with one of the most popular Marvel characters of all time. So look for more amazing adventures of the web-slinger to populate not just theaters but TV screens.

“We have the next seven or eight years laid out as to what we’re going to do with that asset, and that will not only be on the film side — it’ll be on the TV side,” says Vinciquerra. “Our television group will have its own set of characters from within that universe that we will seek to develop.”

Sony is essentially internally auditioning its more than 900 Spider-Man-adjacent characters, to which it has attached the moniker Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters.

According to Hopkins, the team is “pretty far down the road in terms of working through which characters we think could be their own star of a series.”

“We’re developing a lot of Marvel-related content, and I think we’ll be out in the market very soon with something really, really big and transformational for us, because we’ve not done any shows with Marvel before, with Marvel IP,” says Hopkins. “So that’s a big piece of development that we’re onto.”

Hopkins anticipates a large volume of content. “I think we aspire to have several shows in a universe that we create that can pollinate between each other, and to working with a partner to make that happen.”

I need more PS4 DLCs to be honest. If they do that, they can have more money from me.
