I'm actually a neutral party here. The reason i look like a "WB homer" is that so many around here are obviously DCU haters, so to them, anyone who isn't also a hater is a homer.
Turns out that people in a forum about movies and box office hated terrible movies.

Didn’t Dr Strange have much better 2nd and 3rd weekend holds than Thor 3 anyway?
Dr Strange 2nd weekend was 40’s, 3rd weekend 50’s. Thor 3 is 2nd weekend 50’s and a sharp 64% drop this weekend.
Where did you pull that 64% from?
And for my sanity's sake don't imply that a 53.5 is a sharp drop against a 49.5 (40s lol huh), especially when the first had a much bigger opening.

I just realized that The Avengers 2nd weekend> Justice League OW.

It’s quite obvious that Thor will rebound nicely now that JL opening is out of the way. It has begun already, judging by Saturday.
it's also probably because after the initial frontloading most cape movies have from the fans, they play out more as family movies, box office wise. Therefore Saturdays and Sundays will tend to have solid increases from Fridays.

If JL's word of mouth is even slightly mixed (especially among families) then Coco will take advantage.
B+ cinemascore. Not great to say the least.

John Campea is having a meltdown/denial over this lol
Am I the only one who cannot bother to care about these glorified youtubers? Up until JL came out, I didn't even know that Campea, Jeremy Jahns and Scott Mendelson are 3 different persons.

Is the $300 million budget for Justice League true?
That is super insane!! total budget could be close to $400 million if it's true. BvS cost $250 million. WB is overspending itself towards bankruptcy.
They'll get the money back from selling shirts.

Predicting Aquaman to fail solely because of Justice League is silly. Wonder Woman didn't fail after following the one two punch of SS and BvS. If Aquaman is good and is marketed well it could easily be a hit.
WW had girl power behind it.
Aquaman will have toxic masculinity.
Besides, I don't see anyone paying tickets to see discount Kevin Smith swimming.

This thread literally exists because y’all couldn’t resist mocking each other’s franchises endlessly.
That's true, but for a thread called Franchise Wars, things in here are modest, compared to let's say the Justice League thread.
We're getting into really controversial territories here, but let's just say that if BKB came out and said that TDW/AOU is a masterpiece, even mcu fans would scorn him.

This is a thread of zealots. Everyone participating in it, on some level, is at that level. (Not of threats, but of blind idolatry.)
I understand where you're coming from, but I disagree. I believe a lot of people here are genuine fans, and they don't even come close to being zealots.

Yeah they will likely talk about justice league is an underrated maserpiece for next few years now.
That's how they work. Fandom is a very light word to describe them. Hooligans or zealots would fit better. And trust me, I don't mind the denial and the conspiracy theories all that much, I find them comical, but we've reached the point where we have death threats to critics who don't praise these movies.

It's just that the people that continue to support comic book film abominations like Batman vs Superman and Sucide Squad can shut the hell up...its now clear the audience has spoken that those films sucked.

You know what, I can no longer defend, cape or protect WB what shit was that???
I come as someone who LOVES MOS AND BVS but damn, idek what to say.
Burn under 100M JL
BURN. SHAME ON THE EXECS, SHAME ON JOSS, Partial Shame on Zack. This movie is a MESS.
I take back every over prediction, money I spent and time I spent defending BvS and MoS.
Everything burns...
Shit's gotta change. This is how the cookie crumbles, WoM finally caught up to them.
Oh how the (not so mighty) have fallen.
I am as a fan, rooting against this film.
If it makes you feel any better Marvel fans were also dissapointed when AOU underperformed to 1,3 billions.

@Ethan Hunt this JL fiasco must have taken a toll on you

Honestly, while i would be in cloud 9 if the film smashed BO records,i can still call it a huge success because it did something that many thought it was impossible last year...it redeemed DC in the eyes of the general audience.
It didn't do shit because it's still OD, you're making assumptions.
My own assumption is that it will not succeed greatly at that.

One can only hope that DC will now give some chances to their less known but excellent superheroes like Plastic Man, Ted Kord & Booster Gold or Mr.Terrific.
But who am I kidding, bring in MORE BATMAN
