  1. There’s still MonsterVerse and Potter still has some life to it. Pokémon has the potential of the next big thing as well.
  2. By TLM numbers I meant as $200M/$400M DOM/WW hits or to be frank, films over $150M DOM. If they marketed Smallfoot as a musical and arguably better, it would’ve easily done $100M DOM. Both Scooby and to a lesser extent Tom and Jerry have to face a battle of overexposure from DTV movies, the former also has a lot of live action movies too.
  3. I wonder how Dragon 3 will perform with Lego 2 underperforming and the impressive preview numbers seem nice but it also face a 5 year wait and the TV show potential draining the brand. Shazam will be fine, as we’ll get a trailer with Captain Marvel as WB has figured that audiences pay the most attention, 6 weeks before the release date. They’ll probably pick up marketing in full speed after Captain Marvel opens. Though again Lego Movie 2 has me nervous for Pikachu due WB’s ineffectiveness and incompetence at selling family films. WAG needs serious help, outside of Space Jam 2 and Super Pets, nothing else can potential reach Lego Movie 1 numbers. It’s amazing that Disney’s biggest rival is doing the worst at animation and family films especially with it’s heritage.
  4. @cayommagazine Endless Entertainment greenlights Diabolical, an original super-villain thriller movie from Justin Lin for Y6. You heard it folks, it’s good to be bad. Justin Lin (Star Trek: Beyond, Fast Five) to direct an upcoming supervillain movie. Diabolical is about Nathan Blaze (Michael B. Jordan), an all around family man, trying to support his wife and young children by secretly being the super villain known as Dynamo, who can control and redistribute energy. He is one of many villains in his home of Bludwig. Their number one adversary, beloved Miracle (Chris Pratt), the boy scout like alien with powers of super strength and flight who protects Earth from all threats while not killing. However, one day, Miracle returns from a space mission and has had a 180 in terms of personality which proves to be more popular, they’re also more violent, killing villains in cold blood. Dynamo, knowing something isnt right, must reunite his fellow supervillains when not only to investigate the change of Miracle but for their lives.
  5. This is a sequel, it won’t follow TLBM in terms of frontloadedness but if we use Grinch, Lego 2 is at a $46M OW. And Grinch didnt have early sneak previews.
  6. Lego 2 does have me a bit worried about Pikachu, despite the first excellent trailer as WB sucks at marketing family or animated films.
  7. That was 5 years ago, a completely different time for previews. And I say this as probably the biggest LEGO fan on the board, there’s no chance it’ll get close to the original with those previews.
  8. They really should’ve done Lego 2 first in 2017/18 and then Lego Batman this year. If they’d waited for the spin-offs I honestly think it could’ve been the next Shrek 2/DM2.
  9. The budget doesn’t look good either, this cost $99M, and if DOM goes sub $150M, and if OS is as weak as reported, this won’t get pass $300M WW. Everything’s not Awesome . Now it’s time for me drown my sorrows.
  10. Ouch, shouldn’t have went for that $99M budget.
  11. @cayommagazine Robyn and The Lonely Island featuring Anna Kendrick to write and sing a song that plays during the end credits of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl titled “Be The Hero”.
  12. @cayommagazine @jordanpeele Smells Like School Spirit enters production today. @cayommagazine It seems that Taissa Farmiga (the Voltron franchise, The Scavenger Wars Part II, Kingdom of The Sun, Valkyries vs Galaxy) will have another franchise on her hands and be replacing her sister Vera Farmiga as the voice of Dana in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. This was done mainly due to Taissa fitting Dana’s character better as well as test screenings.
  13. North Shore Cinema Lego 2 4:00 - 20/69 4:30 - 6/301 - UltraScreen more later
  14. Alita seems to be sharing the PLF with Lego 2 for the first two days. Also it’s in 3D in the PLF which hasn’t happened since Guardians V2
  15. The animated one is. The next live action reboot will likely be a Paramount/Nickelodeon production.
  16. In all honesty, if they waited to the spin-offs after the sequel and the sequel came out in say 2017/18, it may have pulled a Shrek 2/DM2. The spin-offs diluted the brand. I think it will benefit from lack of family movies in a while and a weak market.
  17. Thinking/Praying LEGO 2 and What Men Want breaksout, the former at $60M OW, the latter at $30M OW.
  18. IT’S SUCH AS SWEET SENSATION Also: https://deadline.com/2019/02/chris-pratt-the-lego-movie-2-box-office-opening-liam-neeson-cold-pursuit-taraji-p-henson-1202550333/ LEGO2: $50M-$55M WMW: $18M-$20M Cold Pursuit: $7M-$10M Prodigy: along the lines of $8.8M-$11.8M (The Witch and The Gift)
