    YES! And I have happily contribuited for that. Hopefully this will ignite some serious changes in the chain of command at Marvel Comics. But at this point I think that it will take Kevin Feige to descend from the Marvel Studios heavens to fix that mess.

    The book? HELL YES. The film? It's great, but as much flawed as Squad, and I'd argue that it's actually even more so. Why? Snyder showed there that he didn't get it. I've defended that film time and time again, but in retrospect and after MoS and BvS, somehow Snyder made that film fall for me from a solid 4.5/5 to 3.5/5. Some amazing imagery, some clever use of superhero movies iconography, but he doesn't understand what Watchmen is about. Regardless, I still had fun with that film, even though I insist that isn't the definitive version of them and that Watchmen could use a real great Netflix or HBO adaptation, with NO involvement of Snyder whatsoever.

    I call bullshit. Suddenly, after Snyder releases to lambasted films, that's when you reverse your opinion of Watchmen. Oh, please. It's obvious that you're a bandwagon rider. By on means, stay onboard, mate.

    It will be over 270 by Friday and probably around 281-282 after Sunday.

    By Labor Day Monday, it will likely be around 293 million.  Almost no way it misses out, they'd pretty much have to drop it from theaters and not do cheap theater run.   Probably going to finish closer to 305-310.

    Well, you've certainly put things in perspective. Thanks.

    It's too bad that it won't match GotG's $333M.

    The procedure of casting modern Hollywood blockbusters will probably forever escape me but when it comes to Batman versus Superman it's entering the realm of the absurd.

    First, why couldn't they get Michael Rosenbaum? Star power be damned! Don't they know how many people have watched Smallville, and don't they know that every single one who watched that show loved their Lex, no matter if they even liked the show? I can understand casting someone new if you find someone phenomenal, but Michael was already phenomenal and Jesse Eisenberg is a bloody joke!

    Oh, and newsflash to the script writers - Lex doesn't shave his head in prison, he's bald! Being aggressively bald is a defining character trait for Lex Luthor! He's got a head where hair's too scared to grow!

    It's the same with the Wayne kid - why, why couldn't they get David Mazouz?! He would've blown the chosen one away without even trying! You could come up with the old "conflicting schedules" bullshit excuse but it doesn't compute, because a: it's a very small role, b: in this manner Gotham and BvS would co-promote each other which certainly is worth some minor sacrifice and c: these actors regularly film movies during their show years anyway. If they were ever to cast Damian Wayne, I'm sure they'll pass on him again, and it's frankly ridiculous. This is a kid who's been steeped in Batman mythology playing a young Bruce Wayne for two years, not to mention he might be the best under-18 actor in the world today.

    Casting Michael Rosenbaum would have been stupid because Smallville and the DCEU have different continuities. Casting him would have caused confusion and would have been strange.

    The same can be said for your other criticisms about casting.

    THIS is why more of the new generation likes Cavil superman.The older generation is holding on to Donner's superman a lil too much.

    Agreed. Personally, I like the aesthetic of this new Superman and also his personality, but I wish that he were more assertive and sure of himself. When I think of Superman, I think of him as portrayed in Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimted; in each of these series, he is noble and kind-hearted yet still assertive and aggressive when necessary - he's perfect. Cavill's Superman has his heart in the right place and means well but is too unsure of himself, short on words, and a little too aggressive at times (fly-tackling the African war lord through a wall and attempting to take Batman's head off with a haymaker despite not knowing the limits of Batman's armor and that he himself had just been weakened by Kryptonite).

    Idk why DCEU fans cling to that fact when in all reality that number should be higher considering Superman is the most recongized superhero in history and none of his movies ever went over 700 million, BvS threw every justice league member in there with 2 iconic villians and couldn't even surpass 900 million worldwide and suicide squad basically marketed 2 iconic villains and had will smith front and center with Batman and Flash cameos and its basically turtle racing to 700 million worldwide.

    It doesn't matter how well known Superman is. Most people, despite being aware of him, think that he's a cornball. Period.

    On your first question, it appears to be by number of posts. When you are first here it is 'rumored project' and so forth.  Then, on top of that I've seen personalized ones, and I assume that is a perk of one of the levels of accounts (or maybe of being a mod.)  But yours is the normal one for someone with your number of posts.

    Thanks for the answer, mate.

  7. I have a couple of questions that are bit off topic, so please don't call me a hypocrite for my earlier complaints.

    1. Who creates the subtitles beneath our usernames? For example, mine says "Straight-to-DVD." Does the system automatically create them?

    2. How many copies and how much money has Batman v Superman made on home video so far? I can't find answers via Google.

    Well I didn't say anything to anyone else because you seem to be the only one that's below 20mil.I was just wondering.

    It does seems as if your predictions are wrost case scenarios but best case for anything else so I understand.

    I also projected it to earn less than 20M a few pages ago.

    The following are the percentage changes for GotG's second Thursday through its third weekend.

    Thursday: -12.8%

    Friday: +64%

    Saturday: +49.2%

    Sunday: -24.5%

    Since SS seems to have bigger drops and smaller increases, I'll guesstimate its corresponding percentage changes accordingly.

    Weds: 4.1M

    Thursday: -17% ->  3.4M

    Friday: +60% -> 5.4M

    Saturday: +45% -> 7.9M

    Sunday: -28% -> 5.7M

    3rd Weekend Total = 19M

    That would be a 56% drop for its 3rd weekend. I was a bit conservative when guessing the percentage changes for SS relative to GotG; they may be bigger, given that today's drop is 7-8% worse than the corresponding one for GotG. So, SS' 3rd weekend could be less than 19M.

    I wish that were the case, @ocho, but it looks like unless SLOP's late legs get decimated for some reason, it's going to end above JB, DP, and Despicable Me 2 most likely. I'm also upset about it, SLoP ruined Dory's chances at $500m and would ruin my Disney Top 5 Domestic Club under the above scenario.

    Why do people hate SLoP so much?

    Putting aside GOTG, discount Tuesdays are so significantly bigger in 2016 (even compared to last year) that any direct Tuesday comp from earlier years is a little tough. The 2016 pattern is bigger Tues bump, correspondingly bigger Wed drop.

    Good point.

    The technical reason a film like Ghostbusters would be banned in China and not the Harry Potter franchise is that Chinese censorship prohibits works of art encouraging superstition. It's based on old censorship rules from then-Marxist China, especially its atheism. Films containing "God", "gods"... films suggesting there is some sort of empiric reasoning behind the worship of deities... are denied on principality. Generally speaking "magic" could offend but "ghosts" and "gods" are viewed as worse. And of course it doesn't help with Katana and her Japanese flag. It should be noted that China has deep grievances against Japan such as their refusal to apologize for the Nanking massacre.

    (Actually signed up just to respond... Might talk more about other things.)

    Welcome aboard, matey! And thanks for the answer; it cleared quite a few things up.
