The film was welcomed with positive reviews and marks the second werewolf film of the year. The genre normally struggles at the box office and with critics but both the Howling and The Cycle of the Werewolf defied the odds. SWAT Kats 2 fell 50% to $20.0M. A respectable drop the for the sequel. Doom bombed with $13.4M. Reviews were mixed. Audiences connected with the film and it could see a solid run. Dazzled disappointed with $12.0M. The Cycle of the Werewolf fell harder than expected with -63.1%. Friday the 13th inflated the opening weekend so this drop in hindsight isn’t too surprising. Doom dropped to $6.5M and has not made up any ground. This is thanks to the popularity of the character. Legs are a big question make though and its could see poor legs. Cross Country fell to $15.3M which is respectable. The Cycle of the Werewolf faced friendly fire and fell over 50% again. It should stabilize next weekend. Meanwhile, Fright Town struggled to open with $7.2M.
