Reshoots are going to continue in February cause Tom Holland tweeted from reshoots in Montreal in October.

Nothing they can really do about right now since there’s nothing really coming out between now and December 14. Theater drops are gonna be ugly starting that weekend though.
so we can expect shit boxoffice until then cause nothing new but big shopping

Monster Trucks, another enormous letdown movie, still made double digits its opening weekend...and it looked way worse than Mortal Engines. There is probably some room in the market for a "big machine" movie, whether it ends up good or not. And it will take 3000 screens away from holdovers, pretty much no matter what...theaters will open this movie, just to see if it has somewhere to go, before they toss it between Xmas and New Year's (if it performs where tracking says it will)...
many holdovers have terrible PTA so they should be cut tbh. Oscar hopefuls such as Widows and Green Book continue to have shit PTA despite fewer theaters they play in. When movies that play for weeks and in more theaters still manage to have better PTA than these 2, that points at lots of empty seats.

ME is gonna be the RH of Xmas. It'll be clobbered by Spiderverse on the opening day and then MPR, Aquaman and Bumblebee will finish it. It's by far the weakest of movies that target the same demo.

But bot would have not made meg, ready player one, a greatest showman, venom and many other films. It's all about where we look.
it's 50-50. Studios can make right calls and wrong calls and so can BOT. It isn't just one or the other.

December is perfect for this. The studio probably has a better idea of when to release this than ZattMurdock from box office theory forums 🤣
Eh, not so fast. I guarantee you that most BOT posters knew that Robin Hood was a flop idea and wouldn't greenlight it, but the studio did. In fact, fans are many times better at sniffing out bombs right from the announcement. Heck, SW fans were saying "who the fuck wants a Han Solo movie?" when it was just one of several rumors floating. But the studio went forward and bombed. So no need to underestimate the wisdom of fans and overestimate the wisdom of CEO's.

Sony can't make Spider-Man films featuring Spider-Man in live action during the current agreement. Here's hoping that Sony won't make anything stupid in the future after Far From Home, because that would suck. Also, never saw Venom and never will, don't care how much money it has made.
I see. that explains why this is an animation.

While you are correct that's the approach they are going for, we live in a social media world now that a film like this - just like any other superhero film - would benefit greatly of a worldwide unified release date. Miles Morales is arguably one of the most important African American characters in comics - not as big as Black Panther, but still - and February would give it not just a good distance of the crowded December market, but also tie it nicely to Black History month, like Black Panther this year. The scattered release date seems like an old approach to market films in a world that last week's films are "old news". I honestly hope to be proven wrong, but I think that Spider-Verse will be a critically acclaimed gem that will be screwed over an awful release schedule.
So Sony could make Miles live action only not Holland Parker? or is there some agreement that they can't make Miles movies at the same time with Disney Parker movies?

maybe scattered release dates are to avoid competition instead of going head to head with movies that are expected to dominate OS? That way it can stand out.

It still has Italy and South Africa left to open, and with the crazy holds its having overseas $600M is basically locked. I'd go as far as to bet it'll also pass $650M.
I hope it does. we need more successes that aren't the usual suspects (SH, action, sci fi)

I have a really stupid question but is there any relation between Radio Ga Ga and Lady Ga Ga?

Pretty diverse studio-wise. Not all Disney and not all MCU either. MPR and Aquaman will likely push some movies down.

Blunt is the most versatile actress on the planet. she can do everything - sing, dance, comedy, action, drama. I really hope she can make best Actress line up for MPR although she's awards worthy for AQP too. It's her banner year. Come through, Emily!

Bombin Hood going to challenge Solo for flop of the year.
Nope, because RH bombing was expected. Star Wars bombing was not. people expected under 1B and I think 700M+ was the lowest they thought it would go but under 400M is absolutely embarrassing for such a big brand.

As bad as Kosner portrayal of Robin Hood was, the movie as a whole was very enjoyable and entertaining. It should never be compared to this new POS
Kostner movie had the power ballad (the staple of 90s blockbusters) and Alan Rickman, arguably two things the movie is famous for (it's infamous for Kostnen's accent).
@Alli come over here! IF keeps slaying! Amazing hold!

I hope this upsets Incredibles 2 and wins Best Animated. Pixar is usually a default winner so lets get some variety and the movie sounds like way better than Incredibles 2 (that many don't think was all that).
