Box Office Pro updated their weekend estimates, they now have A Star is Born on top:

    https://pro.boxoffice.com/weekend-forecast-first-man-goosebumps-haunted-halloween-bad-times-el-royale/

    Weekend Forecast (Revised):

Film Distributor 3-Day Weekend Forecast Projected Domestic Total through Sunday, October 14 % Change from Last Wknd
    A Star Is Born Warner Bros. $30,200,000 $96,300,000 -30%
    Venom Sony / Columbia $30,000,000 $137,500,000 -63%

I can't believe  even in the bigger number for ASIB, but I don't think Friday jump for Venom would be so tiny

In another bad sign for First Man...my 2 locals are booked...only 1 of my 12s even booked the movie, putting it on 1.5 screens (6 showings total with an above average screen and a smallest screen) - and that same local put Goosebumps on 2 screens...

PS - The local that passed on First Man kept Venom on 4 screens and A Star is Born on 2...guess they see the holdovers as the 2 winners for the weekend...they did put Goosebumps up on a screen:)...

Gravity-Interstellar-The Martian - Arrival and 1 year of nothing, chain was broken and the Hollywood lost their space autumn magic:whosad:

Small foot 1st Monday barely grossed $1M. So I guess the holiday is affecting Monday's #, and we'll be seeing a big drop come Tuesday.

Then again, Spotlight and 12YAS were also early frontrunners (id say 12YAS was viewed as more likely than Gravity most of the way through 2013)

Gravity won PGA, actress nominations (including SAG), AFI and DGA victory, of course. It has only one problem: own genre.
