Wait, so P&A costs were included in LG's 25% exposure on Power Rangers? Hell, in that case a profit is all but assured and it's only a matter of whether LG thinks the return is big enough or not. Even if it follows Jack the Giant Slayer's horrible performance, it would still end up with $88.4M DOM and $9.7M from the UK. That would translate into roughly $51.9M going to LG's pockets.

probably do better then that, because it's being release in China now I hope. Plus let's not forget their other markets it hasn't opened in yet also. Like Spain,Italy,France, and Japan. The 18M 0W is the earliy number not including those countries. Plus has Germany number been released. I know it open there, but no number has come out yet I believe.

  2. Some news for PR fans that might help it's OS. It has been cleared for a China release in April..

"Sources tell THR that Lionsgates' Power Rangers also has been cleared for an April release, and state distributor China Film Group is currently working on dating."

It's on the bottom of this article.

People on Power Rangers forums remain convinced merchandise and video sales will save the movie's sequel prospects. They've had the foreign pre-sales financing model and the resulting importance of OS numbers explained to them but either don't get it or are being willfully ignorant. :/

Wishful thinking on their part. Like any other fandom that has bad results at the box office.

He was saying that Power Rangers was gonna fall as hard as Allegiant did on his 2nd weekend. I am telling him that is not gonna happen because Power Rangers won't face massive competition like Allegiant did. Power Rangers is gonna hold up just fine.

Ah,my bad. Misread what you were saying. Doing better here in the US then in OS that for sure. Although it's still early OS and I do believe some big countries haven't come in yet. Not that it's going to improve it's standing much.

you know 3D is dead or dying in most of the world, with the very odd exception of a film that ppl will go out of their way to see 3D

I saw BATB was released in 4,000 so theaters compared to PR 3,600 or so. Doesn't that included IMAX,3D or no? Was wondering how that works.

As much as I would like the 2 year split seasons on Nickelodeon to stop, and go back to using every sentai show each year for the PR TV show, Haim Saban may have too much of an ego to sell Power Rangers again.  After all, it was Disney that sold it to him in 2010.

Yeah if it was to be sold again. Probably be Lionsgate,Fox,or AOL-Time Warner. Disney been there and done that.

You're on meltdown mode, bro. lol

Seriously, just stop it. I loved PR and it seems you enjoyed it too. Relax. You got your movie. At best it'll make 100 million domestic. It'll need to perform like a monster overseas, to justify a sequel. Perhaps it'll get a huge money from Japan and China, but you never know.

    At best: 250-275 million worldwide

    At worst: 190-200 million worldwide.

Granted, it has China and Japan, but I love being pessimistic, so i can be surprised if it makes better than that.

Don't know how the Mods and you regular members put up with him for so long. lol
