  1. BTW, I think it's a movie like 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' (and other Charlie Kaufman movies too), with enough density and enigmatic meaning that you might spot new stuff--or react differently--each time you re-watch it. Your life experience, relationships, dreams, jobs, losses, disappointments, etc. will make you see it in different ways at different times in life.
  2. My favorite movie of the year. I think you should see it a second time.
  3. One of the best of the year, one of my favorites too.
  4. (Golden Globes) 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' won Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Screenplay – Motion Picture and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. Film Twitter is already yelling about how unfair this is, how bad the movie is, how misogynistic, racist and wrong the movie is about everything. I don't get it. 93% on Rotten Tomatoes - Average Rating: 8.5/10 87 on Metacritic 8.4 on IMDB ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  5. @CJohn Terrible Portugal dubs: WTF? It can't be serious! LOL
  6. Well, If we see the most viewed trailers of all time, a lot of that movies made +$1 billion, +$800 million and +$700 million. That's something.
  7. "brings us to the end of September as the likely time of Jesus’ birth." https://www.ucg.org/the-good-news/biblical-evidence-shows-jesus-christ-wasnt-born-on-dec-25 Mad Max:Fury Road, b*tches!! Because JC has already paid enough for our sins.
  8. That's a very good one. I'm stuck with Avatar. Well, It could have been worse. If this was real, I wish I was born in September.
  9. Poor january, april, october and december borns...
  10. Well, if you look the Top 200 December Opening Weekends at the Box Office, you will see: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/weekends/month/?mo=12&p=.htm - More than 95% of that movies had a multiplier bigger than 3x (I found only 7 movies - 3% - with a multiplier a little smaller than 3x, and the vast majority of them was a flop: The Golden Compass, Star Trek:Nemesis, Aeon Flux, In the Heart of the Sea, Analyze That, Psycho [1998] and Krampus). - But even the majority of movie flops there had a multiplier bigger than 3x. I think we have enough data to analyze.
  11. Let me try to understand ... 'The Last Jedi' will have the worst multiplier among ALL Star Wars movies, even though it's released in December, but according to some people here, that's great and there's no problem with that. Okay then
  12. My wife and friends had a very mixed reaction after seeing 'The Last Jedi', none of them are hardcore fans, just normal fans.
  13. The trilogy as a whole is a masterpiece and has almost 15 years, Three giant movies made in just four years, with an overall budget of $281 million, 17 Oscars + another 428 awards wins. It was revolutionary*. All things considered, I think the vast majority of the CGI hold up VERY well, 15 freaking years and still better than many 2017 movies with way bigger budgets (cough, cough, JL, Wonder Woman, Transformers, Beauty and the Beast, Spider-Man, etc). *(Gollum from The Two Towers was what convinced James Cameron that movie special effects had finally advanced enough for him to make AVATAR)
  14. Thank you for that! I love Lord of the Rings so much, it was nice to talk a little about it here. <3
  15. It's true. WTF! Great Gatsby and Speed Racer are okay! Valerian is simply bad, not mediocre.
