Q1 sucked for movies big time. Box office was like was a 15 year low for Q1? And its not about just about releasing along side big-budget. Its about releasing it next to the years biggest musical movie that's also targeted towards the same demographic?

I think critics sometimes just try to follow the general opinion based on the trailers. Since the general opinion was kinda negative on the teaser's and trailers they toned their reviews around that too trying to match it. I hate it when they do that.

to be frank, they didn't think through the release time. Why would you want to fight for box office with contender's like Aladdin, Godzilla, dark phoenix. Aladdin is also the same demographic they are going after.

Unfortunately, that's not a studio thing more of a Audience/people thing. People are more inclined to follow a trend and get rid of it quickly. more like how fashion evolved into fast fashion. People like to live in the moment and unfortunately that's also true for the brands/ things they do in their lives.

There's def a difference between RT Critics Score and Audience. I think it can break out with strong word of mouth.

Titanic was a long time ago. Before social media and peer pressure to watch movies was a thing lol. Now we have a percentage of population that don't watch movies for the love of it. That's because that's whats trending and they want to be part of it. Today's audiences don't keep re-watching movies in the theater they will just wait for it to come to netflix to watch it again if they liked it.

Those JW3 numbers are happiness. I remember I was so upset when john wick 1 only made like 40 million in the box office. Good to see this one is opening near ~60 million OW. I also don't like how people are only go to the theaters to watch known characters and proven franchises. This whole franchise universe world creation is going to be the death of box office.

Haha your funny. And even if he can't act different range of roles like your suggesting. What makes you think wolverine is any different then the really really specific roles he shines in? Wolverine kinda matches into the kind of roles he has been doing.

It looks like 2020 Is going to be a bad year for box office over all.

People are just waiting for the holidays to watch Star Wars. We have the next monday off/ the coming Friday and monday the 1st off too. Most people are taking the entire week off next week since they only need to take 3 days off.

So I watched the movie. It was okay. The beginning 40 minutes were awesome and had a really good build up. After that the movie just kept worsening. My feelings went from this is such an awesome movie to ahh this is okay to this is sub par okay (This watchable but would never watch it again).

AMC is releasing Titanic again on their Dolby Screens ~90 screens. Do we have anyway to track this run?

I was talking about this Teaser. But I also saw the full trailer and looks mehhh too. I was excited for the movie since I liked the first one. I am not excited for this one anymore.

I tried searching for audience demographic/male-female ratio for BvS but wouldn't find anything. Does anyone have any idea of what the stats were for the audience ratio or where I could find them?

Not really. I am kind of new this forum and at predicting box office. My reasoning was that Justice League would benefit from the wonder woman success, and they literally attracted new female audience (52% opening week) to watch the movie. Wouldn't we see a higher female ratio this time around too for justice league? And Thor:Ragnarok won't perform like previous thor movies since its Thor + Hulk (+ the planet hulk back story).

So the long range forecast is out for both Thor and Justice League. I think they are being too conservative for both the movies. I feel like Thor will do above around 300 and Justice League will be closer to 500 mil.
