    Released here in Southeast Asia..

Audience reviews in the FB grps I am in... are really bad though. They said they rather watch GvK again. Said it was slightly better than Dragon Ball: Evolution / Legend of Chun Li.

I wanted to catch it in theaters this weekend.. but now re-thinking. If it is bad, then it's a shame half the IMAX screens in countries like mine.. are given to it and Godzilla losing lots of screen.

I am a huge MK fan so I do hope these early reactions are wrong and the movie is good.

What are they saying about it?

It did in the short term at least and got ruined due to the second wave. Had it released in the same situation as the next month or two, it definitely would've gotten more long-term support for cinemas

My point is "getting people back to theaters" is not a viable strategy when there's no guarantee of safety. When Tenet opened, we were certainly not in the clear of this thing.

Now as you say, we'll arguably be in a better position than we were then. How much better should determine whether keeping it in its current release date is viable.

  3. For me, the time travel mechanics are arguably similar to the first Terminator movie in the sense of past and future events being co-dependent on each other. So in that regard, I accept it.

The biggest issue for me is the Protagonist: He’s a blank slate of a character who only exists to serve the plot and that gives us no reason to care. He’s given no motivation whatsoever. Was that Nolan’s point, considering he’s only referred to as the Protagonist?

I might be the only person in the world who's excited for this lol

I'm interested, though not overly excited.

Antonio Banderas as the villain gives me some hope that they'll be leaning more into the comedic aspect, whereas the first film jumped back and forth between comedy and straightforward actioner.

I’ve now seen Tenet 3x. Twice with subtitles. It does get better with repeat viewings but still too much of a mental tongue twister. Definitely a tour de force story-wise by Nolan but meh as a film because some critical parts are difficult for me to follow (mainly the highway chase).

They try to suggest multiple time travel concepts in the film (time loops, multiple realities, etc.).

Not recasting feels more respectful imo.

I think Winston Duke is the most natural choice for Black Panther at this point, but they have some other solid options.

I think it needs to be said that no one is going to feel the exact same way about what is respectful.

I personally feel like tossing the character aside because the actor died is disrespectful because character always takes precedence over actor. And I feel like a recast wouldn’t be replacing Chadwick, but more so carrying on for him, continuing and finishing what he started.

I think we have to wait and see on that one. His previous well-reviewed "serious" turns were too small and not in the oscar conversation, this is the first time he was really snubbed. It was the most packed Best Actor race in many years and his movie didn't get any other nominations despite good reviews and boxoffice.

If he miss again for a movie that has other nominations, I guess you can say they 're giving him the "you can't sit with us" treatment like they did to Jim Carrey in the past.

In the end who cares, he gave the performance of the year anyway. Let the oscars nominate another 40 Popes.

That NY Post article seemed to suggest he was snubbed in part because of his brand for making movies like Grown Ups.

Someone made this suggestion after Jennifer Aniston gave him a shoutout at the SAG awards:
