  1. Looking back I don't think trailers did a good job of selling the movie to GA who aren't familiar with the original BR. There is Gosling, there is Harrison Ford and a couple of other recognizable actors , there are grand proclamations about civilizations and replicants but what's the story ? If you can't sell your movie in 30 seconds soundbytes/clips then I don't think people are buying it. Unfortunate but true.
  2. He is a draw but he isn't going to add a lot to a movie like this. Subtract his salary and the first basis points he gets and the production will be at the same place they are at now. Movies like this either sell themselves or they don't.
  3. Yeah, if Gadot's asking price goes too high she might not even land any jobs. Jolie has a much bigger name recognition and has a legit track box office track record going back 15 years. I think the simplest explanation that the script is shit is most probably the correct one in this case.
  4. A press release would've been unnecessary if this was a minor issue because movie productions routinely get delayed by a few weeks. I doubt this is getting made any time soon.
  5. Pitch Perfect is an old school kind of hit. Universal initially dumped it in 200 theaters but the WOM was so strong that it legged it to $65 million and then took off on home video. I haven't checked its DVD sales numbers recently but at one point it was outselling super-hero movies on home video. Pitch perfect 2 was always going to be huge.
  6. I think everything depends on the extent of James Cameron's involvement. He may have a good Terminator movie left in him but I don't know how much hands-on will he be given all the Avatar sequels that he will be filming in the next couple of years.
  7. BOTS is doing better than Flatliners on MT. Is it because the lack of previews is depressing its 24 hour sales numbers ?
  8. This is really interesting casting and it seems that they are going in different direction than the last two movies but they should try and retain the humor.
  9. It won't hurt JLaw as an actress but it may hurt her as a box office star. The whole point of being a box office star is to get people into the theater based on your name. If people show up for a JLaw movie and have a nasty experience that may hurt her draw in the future. That's probably the reason why big name box office stars stay clear of highly controversial and divisive movies.
  10. I don't think Mother! will have a good Internal Multiplier. Under $10 million OW is a possibility if previews and Friday are weak.
