I can definitely see why someone wouldn't like it. And yeah SBC generally relies a lot on that. Another reason I think people didn't like it (especially LGBT groups) was that it was trying to do two things: satirize fashion/modeling culture and also trying to make statements on homophobia. The problem with this is that, well, Brüno is an idiot. GLADD was unhappy about his poor parenting bc they believed it would send the message that gays are bad parents. And since SBC does shock value and enjoys trolling he'd have Brüno doing the stupidest shit with the baby. His bad parenting wasn't bc he was gay but bc he's stupid. But since the film was trying to make statements on being gay the lines got blurry. Although I could be wrong. Not to mention the hotel scene where he and his lover were caught doing shit that would disgust the gayest of the gay. It was pretty funny to me though.

It had god awful DOM legs. 60m off a 30m OW. Whereas Borat grossed 128m off a 26m OW. ( the 26 was when it was only in 800 theaters when it expanded the next week it brought in even more with 28m) Even though I loved Brüno I prefer his portrayal in Da Ali G Show. Don't know what was different about it other than his hair but I just liked that version better. Dictator made a little more WW but Grimsby was an absolute BOMB. I wonder what's next for him.

Watched Brüno with my 80 year old aunt (she walked in the living room while I was watching it). TBH it was funny seeing her reactions. Now she swears out that SBC is either gay or has mental problems. I personally love the movie. Did you guys see/like it?

Pretty sure this movie is aiming a little younger. Like 6-12 Fun Fact Deadpool was rated 14 in Canada, they tend to be more lenient. Logan was 18 though, I can see why, it's far more dark/violent.

Wouldn't be surprised if some parents took their kiddos to see DP (I certainly wouldn't) Plus Deadpool has been in lots of kid media before (ultimate spiderman, Lego Marvel) It's also possible they're trying to attract the adult comic book crowd. There's a lot of references to characters that kids wouldn't know/care about. Side Note: Is it me or does DP2 look less raunchy than the first. Even the redband trailers have less swearing
