$19-19.5mn as per early morning readings.
That would be a pretty underwhelming Fri to Thur increase. Let’s see how things go in a couple hours.

The thing is you are punished for being on time when you go to the cinema.
If you are on time, then you have to suffer through adverts, and your popcorn and food will be cold by the time the film starts, the ice in your drink will have melted and turned your coke into watery sick.
Should reward people for being on time not punish them.
I personally tend to arrive at the cinema about 3-5 minutes before the actual film starts, so usually about 20 minutes after the advertised start time. I get to skip all the trailers and if I buy popcorn it's still warm when I eat it.
Sometimes I wish I had not skipped the 15-20 minutes of trailers, especially when the movie is called Transformer: The Last Knight or Mummy, because the pre-movie trailers might be the only part that's worth watching.

Sunday shall go for $39-40mn per early morning reading. Will give an update in 3 hours or so.
It's been 4 hours. How's Sunday looking so far?

Just drop the second EG trailer featuring CM, preferably the coming Thursday, and a 2.7+ multiplier is guaranteed.

‘Captain Marvel’ Skyrockets To $53M+ Saturday, Kicks Internet Trolls & Flies Toward $157M Opening
53.1 Sat and 157 OW? What kind of Sunday drop does it expect?

It’s starting to fall behind AQM and even Residence Evil at the same time point. I am thinking 220m for today.

It does not look good for CM today. Might not increase much from yesterday.

Other than these 9 markets, I estimated $5.5mn Approx for rest markets for Wednesday. Assuming they will be around same only today, it will be $20mn in these markets and markets that opened Wednesday.
Markets remaining, that debuted on Thursday are Argentina, Brazil, Singapore and some other South American/Europe markets.
Black Panther would have grossed $5mn approx in these markets, Captain shall do $7mn range.
This gives $27mn Approx Thursday. Let's wait for official numbers. $42mn estimated till Thursday.
Expect $75-80mn Friday, 100-105mn Saturday and $85-90mn Sunday.
Kudos to you! The $42mn estimate is only off by less than 5%!!!

Just saying it out of my gut feeling: I don’t think CM benefits much from WD. We will find out tomorrow when we see the magnitude of increase.

Like I say , dont even get the 3.00X
It’s actually higher than 3. The midnight presale data here is incorrect (it’s not the data for 00:00am, but 1:00 or 2:00am). The true midnight data (00:00am) is 69.80m. So slightly higher than 3.

Probably around 213m. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter might be a good comparison atp.

we will see still it will be fantastic
It is fantastic! Just a bit underwhelming given its strong presales. But I do expect a nice jump for tomorrow, and a decent run overall.

I doubt it will get much higher than 200m

What exactly is the number? 14.7?

Asia also includes China and Korea. Although pre-sales are good, the movie doesn't seem to be a breakout in those 2 countries. Korea seems to be really pre-sales heavy from what I've read in the South Korea thread.
It’s or it will be a breakout in thses two countries imo.

Break-out in Asia. I wonder how it performs in LA and Eroupe. Any data coming in?

MAY? Or WILL? Choose your word wisely.😁

I hope it picks up at night. The WoM seems decent. Do not expect a 40%-ish drop

But yeah there are lots of sexist comments on Douban.

I know that generally Maoyan rating is a good indication of reception and legs but I would be cautious of using audience ratings with this movie. Many of you know that Douban is another website where you can check audience ratings. Like RT, Douban also allows comments on the movie before its release. Well I checked some of these comments and some of them were really hilarious and cringey. The following are some amongst the top 20 comments right now
- "I really feel that the woman is ugly"
- "The woman is slightly ugly"
And the gem of it all
- "Short and ugly with a supporting face! Even the ass did not even!""Can't go to the gym and practice your ass?"
Some of the rest are about feminism and what I am assuming are references to womens rights organization in China. And some are on the body and looks of Brie Larson that I cannot decipher.
Point being take the Maoyan rating with a pinch of salt
Fun fact: “Avengers” is homophonic to “women’s rights organization” in Chinese. That’s probably why you saw a lot of references to the women rights organizations where they actually referred to Avengers.- 1

I thought there was a life tracking from 1 chain but I don't know where that was and how much % sharre that chain had on average in the market.
But I would guess something between 530k - 650k for today.
Is this what you are looking for?
I think this chain shares approximately 50% of the total market.
CM is currently at 16.1k in this chain, around 32.2 total.

Yes, typo. Thanks and fixed.
Just got curious what the patterns throughout the day were and wanted to be at least a bit familiar with them for Endgame, which I’m sure I’ll follow even more obsessively. But anyone else finding it interesting is a great bonus.
12:00 to 12:30 is only +.26, but I’ll point out that period is usually 25% or less the nearby hourly rate rather than 50%, not sure why but maybe to do with lunch.
"Lunchtime" is also my guess for the slow down.
-
@Thanos Legion The 11:30 number should be 32.20, not 31.20?
Thank you for tracking the presales numbers for us!

I expected the trailer effect to last throughout the whole weekend, as compared to only on Thursday, and therefore I expected the Fri to Thur increase to be normal, as compared to muted. We just had different assumptions. You can stop being so judgmental.
