Is this confirmed? Because the app also shows reviews from people who does not have the ‘bought ticket’ ticked under their reviews.
Yes it is confirmed. And I don’t think mentioning Marvel films in their review as a comparison necessarily means that they are Marvel fans. They might be general audience who might not have any preference for either brand. But after Shazam! kind of disappointed them, they started comparisons.
Just like when reviews saying that AQM is better than Marvel movies, these reviews doesn’t necessarily come from Marvel haters.

Do you know/remember what IW peaked at? I know it was over a million but don’t remember the exact number.
1.15m in total.
Single day increase peaked at 45k.

@LeoC It’s been over 24 hours now; can you give us an update on the reposts and likes of the announcement?
24 hours: 222k reposts, 58k comments, 258k likes. Weibo usually crumbles very quickly so the numbers won’t change much from now on. Very impressive numbers.
Also, Maoyan “want to see” increased from 288k to 508k (+220k) in the past 24 hours, three times the previous record of single-day increase (Us and Them: +75k the day before debut).

It has been announced that Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Chris H,, Chris E, and RDJ will be in China for promotion on April 18th. The Russel Brothers and even Kevin Feige are also going to be there!
If only Mark Raffolo, Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson could join!

Are they that excited because they get to watch the movie 2 days before the Americans? What are the comments on that page saying?
Many of them are excited that they get to watch the movie before Americans. They did not see that coming because for the last two Avengers movies, China is basically the last market to open.
A lot expressed their emotions to see the A6, saying that it's probably their last chance to see A6 altogether in a movie.
Some others say that they are ready to watch the movie for 10 times.

It dropped a bomb on Weibo! It is midnight, but it has 21k+ repost, 7k comments, 14k likes in 10 minutes at 00:00am!!
After 12 hours, this post has got 200k reposts, 52k comments, and 207k likes. It has surpassed the post with the first EG trailer to become the most popular post on Marvel Studio's Weibo account.
The hype is insane.

Chance is high that EG will break the box office record of imported films, surpassing FF7 and FF8.
400m+ is coming!

i think it can question did a3 opened with holidays or not ?
What he meant was, Sunday will not be a normal one. It’s basically a workday. The government made adjustments to the Labor Day holidays this year. People can have four consecutive days off from May 1st to May 4th (Wed to Sat), but they need to work on the two Sundays: the one right before the holiday (April 28th) and the one right after (May 5th).
So if EG opens on April 26th, Sunday drop will be much bigger than normal. Probably higher than 50%, making it quite difficult to surpass IW’s OW. But the legs would be good due to holidays.

4.2mn Captain Marvel / $286.5mn cume.
It’s Friday! Any early estimate for CM’s Friday? Seems like it needs really good bumps to get to 35m+. With US breaking out and Shazam previews, it looks tough.

India will drop by 30-40% on Thursday and another 15-30% on Friday.
Sorry I don't know India Box Office well enough. Are there many local films joining the competition on Thursday? I thought the Holi would boost the performance.

Mon Tues Wed
China $133.8M $135.7M (+1.9M) $137.3M (+1.6M)
South Korea $36.9M $37.5M (+0.6M) $37.8M (+0.3M)
U.K. $32.1M $32.9M (+0.8M) $33.7M (+0.8M)
Brazil $25.3M $26.1M (+0.8M) $26.7M (+0.6M)
Mexico $25.2M $25.7M (+0.5M) $26.1M (+0.4M)
Australia $18.9M $19.3M (+0.4M) $19.6M (+0.3M)
Indonesia $16.8M $17.1M (+0.3M) $17.4M (+0.3M)
Russia $16.4M $16.7M (+0.3M) $17.0M (+0.3M)
France $15.3M $15.9M (+0.6M) $16.3M (+0.4M)
Germany $14.5M $14.9M (+0.4M) $15.2M (+0.3M)
India $12.3M $12.6M (+0.3M) $13.0M (+0.4M)Stays flat or slightly decreases in most big OS markets. Perhaps the increase comes from other markets (e.g., Japan).
Or the actuals in previous weekdays come higher than estimated and thus are added to Wed's number.
Nevertheless, the number is looking good!
With holidays in India and Japan on Thursday, and a less than 10% day-to-day decrease in China on Thursday (Finally!), maybe we can expect Thursday to be around 10M?

Sorry for my ignorance, but is Holi a holiday celebrated by the whole country? Or only part of the country?

Also, More than Blue had managed to breakout in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and some Southeast Asian markets. So it is actually not totally unexpected.

Was very surprised to find More than Blue at 8.6 Maoyan. Can someone with more expertise explain why it’s having a (mini) breakout anyway?
It is a very targeted movie. It’s a sad love story targeted at young females. Some people really love it and some just hate it. That’s why it only gets a 8.6 on Maoyan. But as long as those targeted audience love it and spread the WoM, it can have a breakout.

I doubt it will go much higher than 51m. I expect a 30% Sun drop.

72-73m. Pretty good. Back on track for 1b.

And many of my Chinese friends find it hard to understand why “trash” like Shazam!, BP, SMH, and all Star Wars movies get praised in the US while other good films like Alita and X-Man Apocalypse don’t connect.
