@ZeeSoh We did our family's Gift Swap today, and have the game on in the background. I put in a bag of CBD/THC gummies as a gag gift. And could not have scripted it better -- it got pulled FIRST. In the time it took us to open the gift, all laugh about the gift, and explain the gift to the old folks -- which was about two minutes -- I took my eyes on and off the screen. And that's when Mbappe scored 2. I was like -- HOW?! WE TURNED AWAY FOR JUST A SECOND? WHAT THE?!?! It was VERY funny. @Alligator Zatt - it says you can't get messages. I can’t believe I am enabling this but… Endgame was so special. My Bestie and I met up in NYC to see it together. I will never forget our first showing. When it got to Portals/Avengers Assemble line up, I was muttering under my breath “say it.” Then suddenly some guy in the back is screaming “SAY IT”. Next thing you know the whole place is basically chanting. You could HEAR “Assemble” it was so loud when the cheers erupted Magic. Cinemas are so awesome. I love seeing movies with people.

Since there could be an argument made that no one’s seen it in regular 2D, you could say that it only opened on [insert however many PLFs are available]. Makes that 135M OW waaaaaaaaay more impressive. It’s just a matter of how you manipulate the data.

I just glanced at my IMAX screen for now until Christmas. They are seats all the way booked to Christmas. The 2:30 and 6:30pm are the most popular. It’s sold out for tomorrow (10:30am, 2:30pm, 6:30pm) and the 6:30pm on Tuesday is sold out. The 2D showings are still lacking. Tomorrow it looked like some people were showing up for the 2D showings around the 3 to 6 window, but the showings before, and after was still really bare. So it looks like the PLFs in my area, at least, are supporting the long legs theory.

Consider it tit-for-tat for the Ring of Powers slander Anyway. I think it would be foolish to declare Avatar to DOA until at least the second weekend in January. I know we sound like a combination of still in the denial/bargaining stages Of the five stages of grief + a broken record, but: three hour and 12 minute movie, combined with at least 7 to 30 minutes of trailers, combined with, however, long it takes you to get to the movie theater, is a very big commitment in December when people are having a holiday parties in trying to get their shopping finished. I asked my Facebook about our movie theater, and if anyone had seen avatar in the IMAX and how it looked on the screen. One of the responses I got back was not yet, we have tickets for the 23rd. We’re really just gonna have to wait to see how the Christmas schedule, a.k.a. Christmas Eve on Saturday and Christmas on Sunday combined with New Year’s Eve on Saturday and New Year’s on Sunday, affects the movie. And are the weekdays going to make up for whatever losses they find in the weekends. And then in January it’ll probably stabilize. So there’s really no reason to have any doom or gloom. It’s just we’re not getting our instant gratification of a big opening weekend. anyway, that is my soapbox, and now I’m gonna go back to the sexism and racism, because I have OCD and cannot finish a movie that I’ve started.. 🙃

I think we could have a 10 page derailment. The movie deserves it. And we’re trying to get to 150 pages now. Plus, Cameron has admitted that he was a fucking asshole in the past.
