  1. I think this is the sweet spot as well. Despite personally liking the idea of a quick 1-2 punch with NWH DS2, I bet they want more room to breathe for marketing. And pushing DS2/Thor/BP2 a few months accounts for them being directly impacted by a strike as well.
  2. Yeah that would probably be my baseline with Kills+Duel looking to make some 5-6M
  3. Strong drops today all around. Bond wed is 23% of Sat, vs: spectre 30% (Veterans Day) skyfall 16.3% QoS 13% Very very robust. Question is, if this is driven by a sort of spillover from people who didn’t)t want crowded showings, how long can it last? Normal wed:wknd multi would take this to like 30+, which would involve a really good Sat hold — -28%, like BP/FG level stuff. I’m a little skeptical of that still, maybe the fri bounce will be a bit muted off these strong weekdays.
  4. Yeah, recently it has been feeling like the Th and Fri growth seen on Th is really key for how the whole weekend will trend.
  5. Now I really want them to just go head-to-head with the SB for kicks. We could pancake the Hannah Montana record even worse than Rob Zombie Halloween
  6. Does this movie have a storied production history or what? Sony/MCU breakup, covid, strike… maybe the universe is trying to tell us something 👀
  7. The Feb date that was occupied earlier in various iterations of the schedule is just sitting there. So is the morbius date I guess. I think keeping DS2 where it is and moving NWH by a month or two could make it a very powerful one-two punch — but it could also make marketing for DS2 tough. Can always try NWH Feb/March, DS2 May, Thor July, BP2 Labor Day.
  8. I don’t think so. With covid there were always new developments and numbers to analyze with regards to impact. My problem with this thread has been that it was just people repeating ad nausuem “probably a strike, probably a delay.” While that is obviously highly newsworthy it’s not like the 10th such comment has much marginal value.
  9. Morally queasy doesn’t usually serve to stop people from making money. But I agree with significant logistical issues.
  10. For sure. I suppose it is hard to tell from simply a react how many are “expected but I dislike this” vs “unexpected and I dislike this.” Perhaps I misinterpreted.
  11. I see the threads auto lock now and display what day and local time they will do so. That is awesome! In the era of MTC tracking I wonder if it would be worth bringing the deadline up a day — we’re going to have near-actuals for previews most weeks and it may homogenize the weekly responses a bit. This is my first time playing of course so I’m not sure how much this sort of thing has already been discussed or experimented with.
  12. Reaccs are seriously entertaining me, this was some “sku is blue” level “news.”
  13. Truly don’t know what your point is. If pointless discussions have occurred on the past (which is of course true) that doesn’t obligate me to approve of more in the present.
  14. I mean, this was inevitable. Like I was discussing with @BestPicturePlutoNash a few days ago, the 2021 movies are streaming vehicles first and foremost. WB has never had them available in theaters before hitting max. If Matrix has tues previews you can bet your ass it’ll be on max Tuesday.
  15. They aren’t trying to “censor” you, get a grip. They just pointed out (correctly) that this topic is pretty much exhausted already of anything useful for anyone to say, and going around in circles with variations of “a strike might delay this, but also it might not if things are resolved quickly” is a tedious waste of space. There’s nothing to do but wait for more news on the negotiations 🤷‍♂️
  16. If you care more about 9th spider-man movie than people’s working conditions… you’re a normal American. (This is not intended as disagreement, just observational social commentary)
  17. I guess I might have seen somewhere around 250 movies, I dunno. That’s like one per month since I got old enough to start watching movies, so probably more, maybe 500ish?
