    4. IS OFF-TOPIC DISCUSSION OKAY? Off-topic discussions are okay in situations where there's downtime and there aren't any numbers. But when numbers are coming up and things are getting busy, then keep off-topic things down to the minimum.

I’ve been leading the off topic charge, but to be fair we got a pretty significant number update in the middle and it did get kind of swamped so I’m gonna try to pivot.

If it is $65M ($65M.1 to be exact) then my comp nailed it and would push my day-prior comp for Monday to $35M. Assuming Monday is 100 basis points higher as an increase per Sunday which should be more day-prior presale heavy, then we MIGHT be looking at $42M tomorrow.....

100 basis points = 1%, not sure how this is translating to a 20% PSm increase, you might have to lay the full math out for me (if you care, not actually important 😛 )

Yeah pretty much. Every time I see people go "Rogue One is the best", I just don't get it. I mean the climax is cool, but everything else is just a snorefest.

I am one with the take, and the take is with me.

Was fun to see that planet get wasted in act 2. I can’t recall much of any of the characters now, but overall feel like I liked a slightly grittier vibe than from the skywalker saga (or solo). And the ending, which is the most important part, was great.

Though from reading the winds, I guess now is finally the time to point out that the worst PT movie is better than the best ST movie.

The basic problem is that none of the ST movies are part of a trilogy with a compelling overall story, and all of the PT movies are. Enough to overcome a lot smaller scale execution issues.

Btw, turning to SW to pad an MCU wknd page count is an unmistakable sign of which franchise is still truly culturally ascendant in the US

Yea I have no metric to estimate how much more walk-up friendly it will be than Sunday. Since I can't count my theaters numbers AFTER the day has ended, we can't tell how many it added today to see the growth rate. If it was 30% more today over my Saturday night count, I'd imagine 40-45% more tomorrow. If that's the case, we'd be looking at $37-39M (just a "for instance").

Actually looks like TROS just saw 10% PSm rise. Was deeper into the holidays, maybe 15-20% for NWH? Curious for your thoughts @charlie Jatinder

    Spider-Man: No Way Home Current Number, 24 Screen Theater, 8PM - December 19, 2021

    Counting for Monday - December 20, 2021

40 show times, 1380 tickets sold

Comp to NWH 1st Sunday (Assuming $63.5M)

    -46.01% with no adjustment

    $34.28M

    Ummm. Woah.

This seems like a great PS hold, the PSm should rise more than 10% easy… 👀

Could we squeeze in some Mon alpha tonight @ZackM ?

i can't tell if we're still not allowed to ever compare DC movies to Marvel ones which is why i may bring them up eventually or maybe not.

though honestly i just haven't seen the DC crazies around much on this forum anymore. maybe they all ascended to heaven after the snyder cut came out or it's just a signifier that their cinematic universe has truly flopped i do not know.

Mods like to take credit for fanboy wars ending, but when you look at the numerical landscape ‘twas Kevin who ended the wars 👀
